Ideas And Suggestions! (features and game mechanics)

Just wanted to add my voice to those already asking for a secondary set of button maps for controls like gear shift. I have shifter paddles and a shifter unit and its a little bit annoying to have to go back into the options and change the button mapping from the paddles to the shifter unit and vice versa if I want to match the gear shift type in game to what the real car has.

 

I am not sure has this been suggested before, I would like to have virtual side mirrors on top of the screen.

I do not play on a triple screen or Track IR setup, virtual mirrors had helped me a lot in avoiding me from crashing into other cars that is on my car's blind spot.

 

Rewind option. Because ai just hit you and you bounce off road.

 

Only a couple for now, i'm sure i will think of some more at some point.

Mid session saves - ie during a 1 hour+ race it would be nice to save the game, quit out and come back to it at a later point.
Race by Race Entry Lists - GTR2 style where certain cars would only appear at certain rounds in a championship.

Oh, I'm not sure if this has been suggested before but I think RRE badly needs a voiced race engineer. Currently I have the "game displays" that pop-up on track off so I don't know if I'm doing the fastest lap, if I have to pit, or if I have to serve a penalty.

 

Try Mr_belowskis amazing crew chief app here in the forums. He's done a magnificent job on it and it does quite a lot of what you're asking for

If there is every going to be a ranking system, where drivers earn points for driving clean and points for driving well position wise, will we be able to select a minimum skill/points in the dedicated server tools?

 

I cannot agree with this enough. I've actually made a whole thread on the topic of situational awareness in R3E. I think an option to make the virtual mirrors larger would also be a great option. They're far too small for my tastes.

 

Thats true, a larger option for the mirrors would be great.

It is hard to get back to other games once I have the situational awareness with virtual side mirrors in GSCE.

 

it would be nice to be able to customise your HUD so you can drag and drop the objects to where you want them.

 

I really like the iRacing's sector time (and other) HUD display. The sector time HUD in the left bottom corner is very useful for me.

Points system based on your skills to mach with others players in MP, like Iracing. This is in the plans for this sim, or something like that?

 

its at the idea stage. they are thinking about it but its best to to implement something like this with multiplayer still in early beta and bugs either present or likely to come. personally i don't think it will ever be quite as intrusive as i racing but a simple rating system could add something to the game.

 

Ability to add AI in a dedicated server. It's a simple way to fill out the grid and is really fun for me and my friends in Game Stock Car.

Round 1 - 2 x 60 minute sprint races
Round 2 - 1 x 3 hour endurance
Round 3 - 1 x 24 hour endurance
Round 4 - 1 x 25 minute sprint, 1 x 45 minute sprint with mandatory pit stop
and so on
