Your dash is very similar to mine I'm running on an 8" tablet.

Being able to switch screens is a nice idea, even better if it could be assigned to a button on the wheel :)

Yes, it's absolutely possible :) I myself hate the current widget scroll-er/viewer...it was a quick thing and its time to do a proper one.

We need to come up with a great way how to be user friendly, easy to use and convenient......

I like the way you said it:

    1. default widget will show up (maybe widges can be saved as default?)
    2. then user can just tap anywhere on screen (or maybe swipe but this might be a problem for pc monitor)
    3. to go back, I totally agree, the Option at the top sucks....so I'll think if a nice idea

The wheel button thing will be tricky ;) but really great if you can make it (but I'll miss button on my wheel then!)
Mr_Belowski managed to do it for Crewcheif, you may ask him some tips :)

A touch to the screen would be much easier to do I think, in a first instance.

You're welcome to borrow my code there fella, but be warned, it ain't pretty...

I used SharpDX to get button states and stuff from controllers. The API is reasonably straightforward and there's tons of handy code snippets available on Stackoverflow.com

So here's a list of suggestions, none of which are requirements from me :) just things I thought of while playing around with the dashboards. Something to get your teeth into.

    Shapes

Lines and Squares to section off widgets.
Possibly the ability to attach images/patterns to the shapes so you could have a carbon fibre section for example.

    Labels
Ability to size labels independently from the widget, remove them completely and also change colours so they stand out from widget.
Possibly the ability to type your own text for labels.

    Additional rev lights.
Perhaps circles of different sizes to go with the current rectangle lights.

    Shift indicator
Either as an image or for the rev lights to flash when it's time to shift up.
Possibly the ability for the background to flash?

    Widgets
Brake temps independently from the tyre temp widget which is often too big.
Damage widgets to show progressive wear either by % or to slowly fill the icon with colour the more damage you receive etc.
    Ambient and track temps.

I'm sure there's more but can't think now. Thanks again, it really is great being able to create dashboards ourselves!

All awesome suggestions.......which thinking about it, I think we need to have a place to list these somewhere as otherwise some requests will be lost or I might forget. Many people ask me stuff and most times they get lost in posts etc.

Would also be nice so that people see the status of a request etc...I have to think how to handle these :)

Whilst we are on suggestions would be good to be able to map a button on the wheel to show and hide a specific widget whilst driving and without it going to the game going to the pause menu

So, I'm trying different ways on how to view the custom dashboards and experimenting a bit based on what you guys told me. Came up with this http://dash.proracing.club/Widgets/dash.html tonight, what you think of it?!

Its not ready of course, its just an experiment and want to see what you think...

Basically, the first custom dash in the list will come up by default, but an option can be added for you to choose your default dash.

There are 3 hidden buttons, top left to go previous dash, middle top to exit and top right for next dash. When you hover or click on the top corners or middle, they auto appear and you can click them, otherwise they auto disappear.

    What you think?
