Yeah... it takes hell long time to load a track. May I ask why? I haven't found similar question (nor answer ) I'm comparing to other titles (rF1, rF2, pCars). rF2 loads times are long too but only for the first time. It takes time to compile shaders. But after that it a lot faster.
No, I am asking what you consider a long time for loading. I.e How long is it taking for it to load for you?
I did a 3 tests for Red Bull Ring Practice - no opponents - 45 sec Practice - 15 opponents - 48 sec Multiplayer - no opponents - 45 sec To be honest I though the time is lot longer (objectively). But I have still subjective feeling it's way slower comparing to other tittles. I can measure it for those titles if needed Also, I'm surprised by low impact depending on how many cars is loading. BTW it's not only my feeling. Some people on our forum feel the same.
I'm in the 3 to 4 minute group...I've re-installed, moved drives, fiddled...all the same. Only in RRE. Love the game, but it drives me nuts sometimes when you want to change events and it takes 5 minutes, so I don't bother. Are there logs or something we can send in? I have a fast Annex-M connection, decent PC and no problems with other games.
My problem is...before last update I was on the 45 seconds field and even less...after the loading time increased to 4 or 5 minutes most of the times losing connection from the race and then return to the lobby screen...and my connection is a 7mbps so is not even that bad...
I doubt that! I had a 4Mbit connection, now I've got a 100Mbit connection and I don't notice any improvements regarding the tracks loading faster. If it would be related to the bandwidth, the tracks should load up about 25 times faster... and I'm sure, I would have noticed that!
That really makes no sense, at least for me it's not logical. You say loading times depend on the connection and than you say the weak spot is the bandwidth on S3s server side... so, if I don't notice any improvements with a bandwidth of 100Mbit over a 4Mbit one, it means that only connections at least lower than 4Mbit would suffer from longer loading times...
I too have noticed increased loading times and also during startup. The good news in my case is that while it loads I switch to TV
Loading times are ridiculous right now. Just took over a minute to load a track. Might as well get this game off my SSD as it's wasting space.
Hey guys, I don't have the best PC in the world but I do have 152Mb fiber broadband. Just timed from clicking "Launch Event - Get Real" to "Press any button" 1m 24s but that seem abnormally fast, did it a second time and got a black screen I remember at the height of GT5s popularity, we complained A LOT about loading times, this is no different, GT5 didn't bother me then, this doesn't bother me now. I'm sure it'll get better anyway but then, I'll only complain because I won't have the time to make more coffee lol.
I think a loading time of 1-2 minutes for a track is ok. I still remember the old days... ...but perhaps a dev could say, what the loading time depend on and if it's a complex thing to improve it.
Gosh I still can remember the seizures I had once I pressed play for the very first time. Those flashing borders were quite dangerous!
