Ms. Minnie says thank you. She's all ready for F1 this weekend and thrilled to see Simona with a ride at St. Pete!!! lol Sean, Mine doesn't move as far as up and down but I do wish I had done a better job when I attached the keyboard to it using velcro. As far as swinging it in and out... below the joint covers are lock nuts. I actually loosened mine so I could swing it out of the way easily but if I were to tighten those it would take much more effort to push the keyboard out of the way. My mouse is not attached to my keyboard tray and the one from FTS is not designed for that. Instead I made a small mouse table that attaches to my shifter mount so it's always just to the right of my shifters. If you need your mouse right beside your keyboard it sounds like you need something with a much larger surface perhaps similar to the trays I see some slide beneath their wheels. I don't have the room for that but it would be more like having a keyboard on a desk I would think than the solution I use.
VERY cute! Thanks. If I bought two, do you think I could use the other as GOOD mousing area...would that be possible with that? I am leaning more in the style of having a mousing area either as very small external table or lift up from the side of my seat? What does your mouse table look like? I like the one you have as it seems it will be solid AND shipping is reasonable....a rarity. Unfortunately I have a big keyboard 18" long...Razer Deathstalker , more dilemmas lol Thanks again
I've made a dashboard mount for my Android DashMeterPro display. 3mm Aluminium bent to shape with the edges rounded off slightly: Mounting hole drilled: Underside of the aluminium covered with vinyl with some thin foam also added: Top surface covered with real carbon fibre: Phone case covered with blackboard vinyl and trimmed: Rear view of mount (this needs to be epoxy'd in place): Aluminium edges painted (still needs another coat I will attach this to the top of my dashboard ... Edit: Fitted to the dash. I can rotate it to a degree too.
Awesome riggs, makes me wanna have one my self, racing on a desk right now googled a bit and found this Do It Your self page: http://www.ricmotech.com/ maybe this can get people inspried
@ThereIs0nly0ne A couple of dumb questions...I am very unhandy What size cap head bold did you use? What is the proper name for threaded inserts? Searching for them on amazon since I live on an island that has no stores...
I used M8 sized bolts. They should be called threaded inserts - which Amazon store you looking at Sean? I'm assuming UK given the LFC emblem.
Actually US Think I found these threaded for soft wood http://www.amazon.com/E-Z-Threaded-...=1-1&keywords=hex+drive+inserts+for+soft+wood or for hard wood http://www.amazon.com/E-Z-Threaded-...1&keywords=knife+thread+inserts+for+hard+wood What length of M8 would you guess? Thanks a lot
As, sorry! I can't see any pictures in the links but if they look like this: http://www.amazon.com/E-Z-Threaded-...12221&sr=1-5&keywords=E-Z+Lok+Threaded+Insert ... you should be good. I use ones with a 'lip' and hex key fitting as shown in the picture. I'd say 1 1/2 inch M8 bolts should be fine. 1 inch for the inserts. I'm assuming you can drill a deep enough hole in the structure where you're going to fit them.
Thanks a lot for the help! I have a much better idea now of how I can put it all together. I ordered my seat today...it will take about a month or more to get....nothing is fast where I am. lol. I also have my Keyboard and mouse tray on the way. So I will start getting my seat base together and find some more wood to finish that part of it. Then I just need to get some carpet and other stuff to make it look like it can be in my living room....else gf no like me!
The Sequential Shifter from Derek Speare is totaly awesome! I only drive a DIY Version and i´m very jealous right now
http://www.sammaxwellcustoms.com can make a button plate for any wheel you want. Mine is the OMP Superturismo. Prices on his site. Delivery times vary depending on his workload. If you don't need buttons you can get an adapter from http://www.derekspearedesigns.com/wheel-adapters.html and mount any wheel you like.
Here's my setup Pretty much a Next Level Racing front end, I bolted an E46 seat with some timber to it. Still need to make some speaker mounts.
Not the greatest but it gets the job done. Old original playseat I picked up on ebay for 30 bucks and adapted my stuff to work with it. The G27 just got replaced this week with a thrustmaster tx, and fanatec csr elite pedals. Actually works quite well for what it is.
Hey nipzon nice additions to your rig. My only advice it to be careful with your csw panels the mounting points break easily.
