I was wondering how you guys are enjoying this Steam feature (or not?) Anyone made some good money selling his/hers yet? They're apparently going for around 0,20-ish each, which is quite cool to see.
yeo I've got about half a dozen, but steam new security feature means they won't sell until 15 days time. I have a windows phone so can't use the authentication method. Its not your fault but steams new system is pants.. i want to use the cards to fund some new liveries so i can access other car classes but yeah good idea..
Who buys such things? I mean, they have no intrinsic value or function, do they? Or am I just being really old and 'not getting it'?
Steam will drop you half a deck. If you want a complete deck and craft it into various steam goodies, you'll need to go out and buy the missing ones from another player, for actual money. So there's an economy going on around those. Steam goodies can be various kinds: custom raceroom profile background, discount vouchers for various steam games, etc.
Can't even trade as I'm a bad steam customer and haven't purchased anything for over 1 year. But like Dan's issue, not Raceroom's fault. But the idea is neat I think.

I like the idea, and I actually do collect cards from the games I really like. Would like to get that G5 background, but that seems to be a rare item.. . Are there any plans for achievements? Don't mind them that much, but some achievements can be fun to try to beat. And might be something others like to unlock, which might keep them in the game for longer hours.
At the time, I had no idea what that stuff was. I ended up giving them away. But having to wait 15 days to give something away.....
I find it to be a curiosity mostly - "OK i have these cards now".....good, i think. I could see how completing a set could be a fun thing, i used to collect baseball and magic cards so not all that different.
I sold a few and got a GT3 skin when I couldn't join on the GT3 only servers before the update. So I've found them useful
I usually sell cards I get, that buy me a DLC or two...but I think I gonna spend a few cents to get the 3 cards I'm missing for this one!
Are these the same as Steam Achievements or are they something else? Either way, can't say I'm particularly interested in either (finally worked out how to get rid of the achievements pop up!) but if I have something that others would want I'll look for a way to make them available.
No, they are something else. You just have, well cards. They have no purpose, other than making you want to collect them all You got 4 cards that automatically appears on your Steam inventory just for playing the game , and 4 others that you have to trade or buy. And, of course, you can always sell the one you've got.
I like them, I enjoy having the badges for games I like. I was able to sell a few, and make a booster pack to sell a few more, back when some were going for CA$0.70.
