Released 12-09-2017 RaceRoom has been updated

This issue is still there. I suspect that the AI is drinking beers while I'm driving, I see its lines progressively changing, and soon or later, that's obvious, too much beers is too much...
Enjoy the drunken AI starting a leaderboard on Imola.

 

Updated graphics drivers today and checked for Win updates (none new available).
Game still refuses to start and goes "stopped working" right away without a crash dump file.
It doesn't even show the little square with the cars.
Steam popup comes up saying game is started,
disappears right away and is "replaced" by the "stopped working" message.

Yes it is an old machine, but I am still alright with its performance even on newer games.
Raceroom until 3 days ago was no problem whatsoever.

Intel Q6600 4x2,4 GHz
Nvidia GTX 660
4 GB RAM
Win Vista Pro 64bit

Open to suggestions and help!

P.S.:
Please no suggestions like "upgrade this and that, your system so bad".
I know it is an old system but I know it runs Raceroom and even more demanding games fine.
I won't invest in this machine a single dime anymore as it is rather close to be replaced in its entirety anyhow in the more or less foreseeable future.

Can some 1 explain what exactly adding a Fanatec v2.5 profile changed??? is it just wheel rim buttons Now work or will the wheel work better --> Ex: V2.5 = 1000Htz refresh rate -vs- v2 = 500Htz refresh rate.... Will the Higher Refresh rate of the v2.5 work better Now???

Проблема такая: после обновления, начались проблемы с тенями при езде. Постоянно тень прыгает куда-то, хотя до обновления этого не было. Ссылку на видео ниже. Просто взгляните и обратите внимание на тени в игре.
У меня одного такая проблема?
Что я могу сделать с этим? Когда эти проблемы иногда проседает fps.

The problem is this: after the update, started the problem with the shadows when riding. Shadow constantly jumping somewhere, although before the upgrade it was not. The video link below. Just take a look and note the shadows in the game.

Those moving shadows can occur when the graphics setting called "shadow split" is disabled. Turn shadow split on and those shadows should be gone.

 

"Shadow split" on. Off did not help. The inclusion of the back did not help.

 

Have you tried verifying the game's cache files in steam? (right-click, properties, local files tab, verify button)
Make sure your gpu drivers are up to date. It looks like it might be some rendering issue at around 1:00.
Also check your gpu temps, might also be down to your gpu running too hot.
You could try to clear the game's documents folder in ...Documents\My Games\Simbin (but make a backup of your files so you don't lose your setups and configs).

Could you list your hardware and graphics settings, please?
Does it only happen on this track or everywhere?

 

I have a shadow issue also in VR in cockpit view. There seems to be a sphere around me in which the shadow is not shown. So it disappears off the track when I get close to it. As a workaround, when I cycle through camera views the shadow clipping doesn't happen anymore in the cockpit view. I'm using an HTC vive and a GTX 1080ti.

 

The cache is checked, all right.
At minimum graphics settings it is not. On the medium and on high it repeats.

This happens on all tracks.
To avoid problems, I have a laptop. I play on it.

Привет. Сам играю с ноута с AMD процом и графикой, все нормально после обновления игры. Попробуй полностью удалить видео драйвера. И установи заново. Shadow split съедает FPS, появляется мерцание и нестабильность теней, лучше не включать. Если у тебя AMD Dual graphics, то попробуй выключить ее в настройках видеокарты, эта функция дает дерганную картинку и производительность ниже(у меня). По настройкам графики в игре, то тени и отражения я ставлю на самый минимум, довольно сильно жрет FPS. Так же выключи Vsync, Bloom, Lightshafts, Specular(толку мало, а fps может сильно падать). Включи лучше Depth of fields, track texture qual- medium, car texture qual-maximum, shader quality - maximum. Прилично жрет fps Multi sampling, можно снизить до 2x, а в настройках видео карты поставить фильтр сглаживания "edge detect"(у меня с ним картинка лучше и производительность выше), если есть такой.

I did that file integrity check many times to no avail though.

Windows is as up to date as can be.
Nvidia drivers are up to date.
Several file integrity checks (also with disabled anti virus) didn't do a thing

Did the last win-update include fixes for runtimes like C++ ?
Try to uninstall these, as I had trouble bc of this with other programs.

 

Just for reference, your FFB settings, audio settings, graphics settings, car setups, replay files, etc. are located at:

My Documents / My Games / SimBin / RaceRoom Racing Experience / User Data.

Your FFB/wheel settings are inside the user data folder in a separate folder titled 'control sets.' Audio, graphics, and HUD settings are in the user data foldered titled appropriately. Car setups are also in the user data folder within their own folder. And replay files are in the main RR folder (before you go into the user data folder).

Yet everything was working until the day before the patch with all the latest updates (except the GPU drivers that I updated yesterday).
Removing OS updates that previously didn't influence the game is the one thing I am not willing to do.
If that really is the case then it is entirely S3S' job to make sure the game is compatible with an OS they claim it is compatible with.
Sorry if that sounds harsh but unless Vista support is officially dropped by S3S, I stand with that opinion and am not compromising
my system for a game.
