    How is the auto slow down triggered? I have yet to find a predictable way of serving a SD penalty. Hopefully, knowing how they work will help. And also, do you still get the 0.5sec grace with SD as you now do with DT?

    By releasing the throttle (or braking, not 100% sure which method was chosen eventually) after having received the penalty.
    The idea is that you don't get slowed down immediately but once you get to the next turn so you can prepare for the slowdown.
    So you can keep driving normally till you reach the next turn and as soon as you release the throttle (or brake) the slowdown is triggered.
