First of all there is no thing like a "boost" when using 64 bit. 64 bit only enables a program to use more RAM, where with 32 bit there was a limit of 4 GB overall for Windows. Since Windows always reserves a fair amount of RAM for itself you had in most cases something around 3.5 GB for running programs. AFAIK Win 10 home 64 can use 128 GB of RAM and Pro/Enterprise can use 512 GB.
But: 64 bit programs also use more RAM for themselves. So maybe even if you run a 64 bit Windows but have only 4 GB RAM it might still be better to use the 32 bit version of a program.
So 64 bit programs do not run faster per se. But if you have more than 4 GB RAM a 64 bit program can use this additional RAM to store data instead of having to swap the data between RAM and HDD, which is very slow.

Several people have mentioned some Windows update doing its evil works in the background lately and rebooting their PCs (so the update gets finalised) solved performance issues.

Microsoft are rolling out the Windows10 creators update, depending on what version of Win10 you have and what build number that is, will decide which day you get it, my Enterprise edition (Gaming rig) was yesterday, one of my Pro Win10 machines is updating now and my other Pro machine hasn't updated yet but both Pro machines are different build numbers.
I'm using 16Gb of RAM on my main PC and have had no performance issues, either before or after the update, other than motion blur being re-enabled post patch, so check your video options have not changed from your original settings.

Good advice on checking the graphics options.

I've been struck with performance issues months ago and it turned out to be some Win update being downloaded/installed in the background, so might be worth checking the update status.

External apps need to be adjusted to updates, especially 64bit. CrewChief for example already is good to go.
There were no patchnotes concerning Dedis and their output (which is a little disappointing),
so I don't think there were changes.

Did anybody drive the M6 GT3 after the update? It seems a bit slow especially the 5th gear. I watched that video below. At 5:00 there's the part uphill (Kesselchen), where he stays in 5th gear and reaches about 244kph.
Then I made a test drive in R3E and when I try to do it like him in the video, the car hits the rev-limiter at about 238kph and damages the engine. When I shift up to 6th the car is soooo slow up the hill that the AI opponents easy pass me or push me offtrack.

I don't want to be a nitpicker,.. it's just that this car feels a lot slower then every other GT3 car I drove since the update :p

I already read something like this elsewhere on these forums.
238kph rev-limit at 5th gear sounds a bit off. I haven't used the M6 for a while, but i know for the RUF that rev-limit for 5th gear was at 246-248, and the M6 could go a little bit further in the same gear...

Its really a shame. I was one step before re-entering RRR, but after the first race in the Vette against the old dinosaurs, which since years can not be found in a GT3 grid, i put it back in the box. Its really rediculous to compete with tons of Mustangs, Camaros, Alpinas, SLS, Glicks and Ford GTs....

    A pity.
