Yes I'm not an Alien like others here. But the basic setup is complete rubbish. 50% Taction control is nonsense for this underpowered car. I won more then 2sek by decrease this from 50 to 45. The basic setups should be more neutral, so that even beginners could do good laps.
Default setups are always build with safety in mind, so beginners don't struggle too much. Hence they will always have a tendency to be (too) understeery. Regarding TC presets, it was decided to adapt them to how they are commonly used in real life racing, meaning they start with a high setting (for the start) and once the tyres pick up temperature the drivers flip up through the steps to reduce TC.
Isn't it a bit arrogant to call the setup "complete rubbish"? It's just a base where you can start from and nothing written in stone. But the basic setups are a good point to start from and you can already have good races with it. Handling is more on the safe side and good to get to know a car. I tell you what basic setups are complete rubbish most of the time: pcars2 one's.
Gaining 2 seconds when adjusting the TC 5% speaks more to being quite inconsistent than it does to the setup being perceived as rubbish Frankly, I wouldnt even expect to gain 2 seconds when adjusting the TC 50%. Getting the braking points correct and being consistent on your throttle application are far more crucial to your laptime and how the car feels, since those affect the handling more than some TC would.
With now over 30000 km in R3E and over 100000 logged online-km in Race07 you can believe me, that I know how to drive cars. Even if some are not really fun to drive for me (like FR-X f.e.). The best example for good basic setups in R3E, are the WTCC92, the DTM and the touring classics. Of course I know the the DTM 95 is "over" them and should be harder to drive. But with the Basic Setup, the Back of the car does nothing, it is that far away from showing a reaction, that you think you drive an awd volvo on the Autobahn. Like mentioned in this Testvideo:
This new Mercedes on the Nordschleife rocks. Its alive, and if you drive it like with any other car and use the Kerbs more than one should do, the car really jumps and dances all over the place, its in a positive way challenging and at the same time most entertaining. I like that there is more variance and difference modelled into the recent physics models, too many cars in RR before felt more or less the same. But the recently relased cars and the new physics cars really got individual character that before - I must admit it - I sometimes missed a bit. More of this!
This is just a lie ... cmon now. 2sek would be like going from a completely broken setup to a perfect setup lol.
I buy this wonderful car Payd 399 VRP and get just one car The rest of the livery's i can buy for 0.29 VRP Is that correct?
Yep, that's correct. That's inconsistency for you, 5% of TC shouldn't give you 2 seconds of time.. I highly doubt someone is that sensitive to so few percentages of TC.
I think everyone agrees, the Alfa and Opel are absolutely amazing cars, as is this Mercedes. But the 3 old-new DTM Mercedes cars were kind of a one off because of the eRacing competition, and now we are back to our old priorities. I think we promised you 3 tracks, 3 more Porsches, WTCR and that KTM X-Bow GT4 + some other features so Sector3 is really busy. For the distant future, never say never. For the closer future, the C-Class will stay lonely in its class.
@SimRacer don't hate the messenger, hate the message. And the other DTM cars were never subject of the debate. So why are you surprised that it's only the Mercedes? It's a Mercedes event after all.
You can give me the dislike instead of Manuel. It's really not his fault, and I know already how it feels
