Clarification on the invitations for Malaysia.

The rulebook says in 22.7: If not all of the spots are filled on 4.11.2019, RaceRoom has the right to redefine terms and conditions to fill the remaining spots, such as a last chance qualifier.

We will do it in the following way:
    - For all qualifiers, we will do a first round of invites, and if not all drivers accept, a second round of invites.
    - If there are still open spots after that, we will not do a 3rd round of invites, but instead invite the best placed drivers of the global leaderboard championship of Esports WTCR: http://game.raceroom.com/championships/34

Baldi secures leaderboard title, and heads multiplayer title fight for Sepang

This Sunday, the virtual engines of the Esports WTCR OSCARO on RaceRoom will start for the final time of the online season, with the races at Sepang International Circuit coming up.

The first title of the season was already handed out though in the Leaderboard championship. Gergo Baldi (M1RA Esports) showed the best hotlap performance throughout the 7 leaderboard rounds with his Hyundai i30N TCR and secured first place ahead of Florian Hasse (EURONICS Gaming / CUPRA) and Bence Bánki (SDL eSports by Logitech G / Honda).

It’s no surprise to see the same 3 drivers in contention for the online multiplayer title. Gergo Baldi heads the title fight, 71 points ahead of Bánki and a further 11 points ahead of Hasse. With 215 points on offer, Bánki can still turn it around, but it will be a tough task given the form of Baldi in the past events, where he secured three consecutive first-race victories. Bánki perhaps has to worry more about Hasse, who set the fastest time leading up to the Sepang race.

With their performances so far, Baldi, Bánki and Hasse have already secured a ticket for the live final in Malaysia in December. Nikodem Wisniewski (Williams Esports / CUPRA) is on course as well, while his teammates Kuba Brzezinski and the Audi drivers Moritz Löhner and Jack Keithley need solid results in the last online race to book their ticket as well.

The fight for the last place, P8, is hotly contested. Julian Kunze (EURONICS Gaming / CUPRA) is five points ahead of Alexander Dornieden (FA Racing Esports / Lynk & Co), who is 8 points ahead of David Nagy (M1RA Esports / Hyundai). Out of these three, Kunze was the quickest in the pre-qualifying, but as all times are close together, a tough fight can be expected.

Emre Cihan topped the times for the Asian/Oceanian time zone race for the third time in a row, but all eyes are on the battle between Lei Sabino (Macau e-Motorsports / CUPRA) and Andika Rama Maulana (GT-Sim.ID eSport / Honda). Maulana has a 66-point lead, but on the Malaysian track, Sabino seems to have the pace advantage.

This Sunday, you can follow the action of the top server at 17:20 GMT / 19:20 CEST:

Stewards: Michael Bell / Robert Wiesenmüller

    Server 1 Race 1

Kunze vs. Dornieden, several scenes throughout the race
Into turn 6, Kunze gets a better run and tries to go up the inside of Dornieden. Dornieden closes the door and cuts off Kunze.
On lap 9, Dornieden and Kunze try to go side by side in turn 1. Kunze has an overlap coming up to turn 2, when Dornieden turns in. There is contact, but since Kunze had the overlap, he cannot be blamed for it.
On lap 10, coming up to turn 4, Dornieden, who went for the inside to defend, moves back across to the track. Dornieden’s line is predictable, but he goes a bit too far and makes contact with Kunze.
On lap 11 in the same corner, Kunze tries to go across Dornieden around the outside. They make slight contact, and Dornieden stays ahead. Dornieden did not leave a lot of room, but since Kunze had no overlap according to the rules definition of an overlap, legal move.
On lap 12 in turn 1, Kunze tries to pass Dornieden around the outside, Dornieden slightly misses the apex and they make contact. Dornieden did not accelerate before the contact, but his line is certainly in the “grey area”.
A lot of Dornieden’s moves are in the grey area, or would result in a warning. Since it happens consistently throughout the race, and he received a warning in Suzuka, he receives 10 penalty points.
    Alexander Dornieden - 10 points

Dobsa vs. Maulana, Lap 2 Turn 5
Maulana goes for a very tiny gap in a high speed corner and hits Dobsa, who flips onto his roof.
    Andika Rama Maulana - 20 points - 1 strike

    SERVER 1 RACE 2

Pointeau vs. Maulana, Lap 1, First Turn of S2
Baldi goes in hot into turn 4, while Juhasz is moving towards the inside, squeezing Maulana between each other and sending him into Pointeau, who goes into a half spin. Maulana goes off the road and then comes onto the track rejoining into Pointeau, blocking Pointeau and costing him position.
Pointeau then drives across the nose of Diner and spins off the track.
While this is all going on, Dobsa drives into the back of Maulana, who is unsettled after contact with Juhasz, and spins Maulana off.
Krisztian Juhasz - warning (moving under braking into T4)
Gergo Baldi - warning (agressive driving)
Andika Rama Maulana - 10 points (unfair rejoin, reduced to half penalty due to the confusing the circumstances)
Richard Dobsa - 10 points (for spinning Maulana, also reduced to half penalty due to the circumstances)

    SERVER 2 RACE 2

Alves vs. van Roon, Lap 7 Final Corner + Lap 8 Turn 7 and 8
Mukimov hits Alves into the hairpin. Unfair pass.
Alves also hits the half spun car from van Roon.
Mukimov then tries to give the place back, and gets hit on purpose by van Roon, which puts Alves on the grass.
On lap 8, Alves makes contact with van Roon twice, and then passes van Roon aggressively and takes the position with an unfair move
Van Roon then wrecks Alves on purpose.
Sergey Mukimov - 8 points, 1 strike (for contact in the final corner. Even if he tries to give the place back, we have to give a penalty here)
Rafael Alves - 8 points, 1 strike (contact + unfair pass)
Frank van Roon - Disqualification from this year’s and next year’s championship (2x deliberate wrecking), 16 strikes,

    Race 1

Sabino vs. Maulana, Lap 1 Turn 1
Sabino tries to go for the undercut on and moves past Maulana, who ran wide in turn 1. Sabino comes across to the left, when they make contact. There is again lag involved, as Sabino’s car moves a lot after very small contact. Sabino drops to the end of the field. But Maulana gave a lot of room and drove according to the rules here, so it is just an unfortunate...
