Anybody know if S3 is working on the full layout of Brands Hatch? One of my favorite tracks in Race07.

Per their contract they only have the rights to the layout that ran in the DTM Season. Everyone wants it though.

Want it or know if they're working on it? ;)

Op, last we heard, it wasn't licensed and only vaguely modelled.

I hope they can negotiate something as Brands Hatch GP is a fantastic circuit, still one of the best in the world.

    It's a circuit I miss badly. :(

I'd quite happily crowdfund this one!

Was disappointed after buying the European track pack to discover that "Brands Hatch" only included the indy layout and not the full GP circuit. They really should clarify this in their listing as currently it is misleading at best.

Well if you look here you can see how many layouts there are for every location and if you click on each location you can see what layouts are included. http://game.raceroom.com/store/tracks/type/circuit

S3S has spoken about the matter in one of their recent livestreams but I forgot what the outcome was.

The track layouts included are very transparent. Although I got it with DTM '13, and so the Indy layout was expected, though i would love the GP layout to be in game at some point.

In which case I would have called it "Brands Hatch Indy" as this is the name by which this layout is commonly known. As I said, disappointing but no big deal really.

Is it possible to get the GP layout licensed afterwards Jay Ekkel?

Or do we have to wait until a series is run there again (DTM, WTCC, ADAC GTM) and using that layout?

Maybe we could persuade @Jay Ekkel to try and get the license for the '92 BTCC Season, that would include the Brands GP layout and a whole host of other iconic British circuits and cars.

Doesn't Codemasters own the rights to the BTCC? I think I read that somewhere. Would be nice though

They do but I don't know if it's for all BTCC years or just 96/97 onward.

My guess is that Alan Gow's gonna want an insane amount of money for that license.

I think he'd still have a fair say about the BTCC today... or any other year come to think of it, he's the President of the FIA Touring Car Commission which oversees touring car racing on a global basis.

But not presumably involvement in licensing a layout of a circuit independent of a competition. Wouldn't that just be down to MotorSport Vision for Brands Hatch?

Yes it's one of the MSV circuits. Someone needs to have a word with Jonathan Palmer. :)

This was answered somewhere before I think, biu not sure where. If I recall correctly, yes it could potentially be licensed but it isn't yet and wasn't in the immediate plans because they're working on plenty of circuits already.

And quite frankly, until Spa and the Nurburgring are done (and don't forget Paul Ricard and Silverstone), I think they have plenty to be getting on with!
