Can't Send Friends/Contacts Messages?

Is there really no way to send messages to your friends/contacts? If we can't send a message, what is the point of having friends/contacts in Raceroom?... just to look at their stats? I'm a little confused on what the point of friend requests/contacts are if there is no means to communicate with them.

You can see when theyre on a server in multiplayer and then you can join that server as well and communicate via the perfect in game chat

 

OK, so at least you can communicate if they are logged in. That's good to know. I wish there was a messaging system though. Thanks for replying and letting me know about the live chat.

 

Didnt expect you to actually find this helpful. While technically you can do what i described it was originally meant as a joke

 

Ha... well, it is a bit funny there isn't some sort of official messaging system to use with your contacts. I assume the in game chat isn't all the perfect.

Don't remember that, but I guess one of the reasons for that is that they don't want to moderate these communications.

But it's not the best way.

 

in some ways i think it is ;
its there
its free
it is one of the main communication channels for raceroom
it doesnt use any more bandwith on the game servers or raceroom servers in general
none of the devs have to create it or keep it updated
its one less thing to moderate

How about allowing us to add our Discord ID to our RRE account so Friends can see it ?

 

yep I suggested that on another thread, at the moment I'm using the header image to show my discord id in case someone wants to talk to me after a race https://game.raceroom.com/users/HiCkS78/

Maybe if some of us start doing it others will join.

Of course if KW Studios adds a specific (optional) input for it on our profiles would be much better.

Me too sometimes I want to talk to a driver after a race, because of an incident, to apologize, or just to say thanks for a good racing with him. Good drivers wont have a problem to show their discord on their profile.
