I really hope that interest in Raceroom will pick up again. The long summer hiatus has left Raceroom off the front pages for a very long time. The improvements announced in the dev stream all sound great, but the success of an extensive online competition structure will rely greatly on substantial number of players racing regularly. It also seems very ambitious to position Raceroom as an alternative GT academy, a platform to bring new racing talent from the simrig to real live racing. My expectation is that the SimBin multiplatform title will also be a vehicle for this ambition. I'm looking forward to the patch to deliver a much needed boost to Raceroom.

 

Not for the people who already own everything or most of the content, at least not immediately. For people freshly getting into RR I think it is a great deal, much like the black friday deal last year.

Btw, did I mention the AI improvements.
Seriously, Marko, Karsten and Robert have put in many many night hours to not only improve their interaction but also their overall driving. Just saying, give Macau another shot f.e.

 

Yeah, having a way for new users to quickly and at a discount grab a lot of content to they can race more and more varied stuff is great. It keeps the threshold to try the game out lower. Hell how many of us haven't seen people ask about iRacing claiming to be interested in GT3's or whatever only to quietly disappear into the night when they realize the cost involved to get there. Premium package as an idea I'm super in favor of, because it'll mean more people for me to race, and more beers being handed out at the dev streams.

There really does need to be a loyalty program to compliment it though, and I think I and a lot of others saw the package as something that had the potential to be that but it does not seem to be what it's intended for. Ideally we will have some word about it soonish though because clearly, the pricing model of R3E is still a bit of a sore subject for everyone involved.

 

AI Improvements always sounds good, can i now drive with fuel and pitstops or do they still pit in the last laps to change tyres/refuel ?!

BTW, whats up with the downtime? pretty long. not sure, 8 hours allreadY?

 

I'm far from having tested all possible track-car combinations (Andi and Peter are much closer to achieving that goal) but with the ones I tried, yes, that was corrected and they pitted when you'd expect them to. Also haven't noticed any bug report from Andi or anybody else about that still happening in the past days, so I'm positive that that's been sorted.
EDIT: Let's say carefully positive...You never know and one or two might always slip through.

So long as half or above field of DTM cars make it past T1 on Lausitzring on lap 1 I will cheer with joy, that where my last DTM championship ended after 10 or so restarts.

Did they fix the macau hairpin? GT3 AIs are always getting stuck there.
