Just in case anyone by chance knows about thi problem, any hint would be welcomed. I use VR. Havent played the title since some time, now returned, with updated gfx drivers, maybe a windows 10 update or two since last time, and firmware update to the wheelbase. Game ran always stable for me before, very happy user. Now, every time after launching a stage, after 3-4 minutes the game in VR freezes, image in VR suddenly is on a jerking moviescreen, not fully embracing vr, and thats it, session dead, need to go to desktop and kill its window there. Known issue? Heck, I would hate to lose the game this way, after DR1 initially also worked well but with their last patch to it they made it unplayable for me, crashing or stuttering. Now here again? I hope not, its a vetry good title. No mods, no experiments on my rig. I am no hardware modder either.
hear hear ... https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/87521-crash-to-desktops-and-screen-freezes-in-vr/ I am not alone at least (not that that helps me), Google shows me that many, many people seme to have big issues.
Good for you. Enjoy it while it lasts! First such reports came in a huge wave in 2019, I perceive from Google and several forums form that year. And a new big wave of complaints this year. Currently the game is dead for me, which I regret,I iked it very much. But a freeze/ctd is a freeze/ctd. My problem is with Codemasters in general, its the third title of theirs that behaves like this. CMR 2 or 3,, long time ago, after a couple of years all of a sudden stopped working. DR1 worked nice in VR, then they released a last and final farewell patch - and it was stuttery like hell and unusable in VR from then on, they never fixed it. DR2 was stable and excellent until late spring or early summer when I played the last time - and now returning, it suddenly is unplayable. And I do not fiddle around with and notoriously alter the system, I am too old for that stuff and too lazy (never touch a stable system...), only one Windows update and a gfx driver update and a wheelbase firmware update is what has changed. I have Windows updates blocked, update it only twice a year or so, to avoid the usual MS customer annoyance updates.
@heppsan So you prefer the (rounded) plastic tops for the V3 Pedals I see. I also find them much more comfortable/ergonomic to drive. The metal ones look better of course but simracing isn't about the looks, actually. (except for being a total nerd, which I ain't). @Skybird Not a VR issue, but after almost two years running DR 2.0 I decided to start a RX Career (I'm not that interested in Rally Cross) and while for some single races every now and then it worked, I have a crash literally every time it should switch to the next location, even when switching to the next heat sometimes. Never noticed it before lol (cause I didn't try extensively)...well I put off DR 2.0 from my HD anyway... Still hope that sometime, somewhere, somebody has the balls to develop a true Rally Simulator....
