When you're opening the Store ingame you can select a care, and next to the buy button should be a "Test Drive" Button.I'd recommend you getting a GT3 or WTCR Car, since those are the most driven series online. Probably the Starter Packet would be a good starting point as well.
X17 is about the fastest thing in here, but it is way too fast for me to handle. The DTM cars are pretty well rounded and not too hard to handle ..... It seems several of the free cars are really not too bad, but im old and they all seem plenty fast for me lol
I'd recommend Formula FR90. This was a breaking point for me to actually start liking open wheelers! Once you get to know their limits, it becomes extremely pleaseant to drive these cars. Oh, and the scream when you reach the max revs...it makes me want to drive in a straight and just listen. Give it a try
but if you are into GT's I'd recommend the GT1 class; the Saleem is my favorite. AI are great on most tracks and they are a little more challenging to drive as they don't have ABS
