I had similar problems with my sequential shifter (DIY BMW E46 steptronic shifter), but i don't see any technical issues on that device.
Fortunately, you can solve this problem in rF2 by editing the player.JSON.
    Code:
    Repeat Shifts="0" // 0 = no repeat shift detection, 1 = detect and eliminate accidental repeat shifts within 100ms, 2 = 150ms, 3 = 200ms, 4 = 250ms, 5 = prevent shifting again before previous shift is completed
Try with setting "2" or "3".

    Nevertheless i hope, we get a similar option/parameter in R3E too.
I still have some double shifts in R3E. Not that often, but it happens sometimes. Maybe it depends a little bit on the car. (shift timings?)

Thanks again @Ernie ...seems like you become my personal tech engineer...;)

I tested the double shift issue with some variations in R3E and my first guess was also pointing into the direction that certain car/track combination are more liable to it, but meanwhile it happens with almost every car/track combination, so that I can't see a pattern....

...but next month I will order a CSW V2, so I hope to get rid of this issue. Nevertheless the issue should be solved by the devs in the short term, because there are quiet some people suffering from this and noone can assure that it won't happen to me again with the CSW... I can't estimate how time consuming and complicated it is to implement the possibility to edit a setting in config file like you can do in rF2, but perhaps this would solve the issue for the most of us...

Hello ! We have a fix for this currently with betatesters, it basically should prevent this problem from happening.

We've added a variable in the .rcs files "Shift Delta Time=" which sets the minimum time between shifts.
    Hopefully should fix it.

Bring it on J-F....I re-installed RRE completly (1st time since July 14)yesterday and have to admit that anything runs more smooth now - except for the DS-Bug (DFGT, only upshifts) . The DFGT is sensitive anyway you always have to hit the switches right but the DS Bug is strange the way it appears...(couldn`t say what exactly causes it....)

Can't wait for the fix. I had a few races yesterday with some annoying doubleshifts (while downshifting). So i'm really looking forward to the release of the fix. :)

Just for the record: I noticed a pattern which is connected with the elevations of a special track. At least on my end . On Race Room Race Track for example I have much more ds-issues (upshifts only) than on a flat track, mostly when running slightly uphill reaching the crest -weird. As car weight , traction and grip get lose in those moments it might have to do something with that.
Found two spots at MidOhio where it repeatedly occurs...

Is this still in development? I can't find that line in my .rcs file.
