I think this is that "late" because of EURO 2016 and the Olympics, they kinda build their schedule around those. So your birthday might be EURO final day, July 10?

Well, my wife said This year Hockenheim was too far away so let's get to Oschersleben next year. How to explain we have to go to hungaroring in 2016 :-D

Pretend you wanna treat her with a little holiday, then "accidentally find out" while you're there. ;)

    So much easier with rallying.....

As for DTM, not a fan of the series, but always wanted to go to the Norisring round one year, it's on my 'to do' list, but it coincides with Rally Ypres so not this coming year.

Bit strange to have Hockenheim twice and no Oschersleben at all, but I guess those are the traditional 'holiday' dates there that are pretty set in stone?

At least they're not trying to go to China any more.

The same old tracks. No surprises. Personally i think it's quite a lame calendar.
It would be interesting to see the DTM in Spa or Silverstone or Monza or Misano or Paul Ricard or ...... somewhere else.

Yeah, it's simply tradition, which we Germans like in particular.
Since 2000 it has to be Hockenheim as start and final, just as it had to be Zolder in the old DTM. Agree Ernie. I mean they've been all over the place and raced in Suzuka, which I don't think helped the brand too much, but some other european tracks, definitely. Revive the old tradition and visit Zolder, Magny-Course, Brünn, Brno, Donnington...

Tradition or a lack of flexibillity ?
At least they started to talk about Nordschleife a while ago, but I don't know the outcoming so far ("too dangerous, too dangerous !!"). On the other hand they once (guess around 2004/5) raced at Dijon but due to the fast, curvy layout they smoked up the tyres completely which in the end became really dangerous then.....

    So was I. :(

I went to watch the DTM three times at Brands and it was always an amazing event. Very well supported by the Brits with plenty of Germans making the trip across the channel too. Plenty of British drivers in the DTM too and always has been for the past 10 years or so (same as WTCC which also doesn't come here).

It's a shame they had to run on the Indy layout as the GP track would better suit these cars. That would definitely be a drivers favourite but as it was, the Indy layout was pretty popular with many drivers. As far as I'm aware there is a restriction on how many times the GP layout can be used due to noise and housing adjacent to the GP part.

Anyway, it's a shame there's no UK round. As far as I could see it was a success but the DTM wanted to leave to chase commercial ventures in China. I'd love to see the DTM return some day, whether it be Brands, Silverstone or Donington (the three 'international' standard tracks), or even Rockingham. Donington would be cool - imagine DTM cars on the Craner Curves!

With all that downforce the DTM cars would blast through the Craners with barely a twitch. Would still be cool though

DTM calendar is so predictable, and very boring, it must be such a challenge to learn the same tracks over and over again..:weary:

Why is Sachsenring never on the calendar? Excellent circuit.

Here's the list of former and recent DTM tracks: http://www.motorsport-total.com/dtm/db/results/tracks.php

"Financial differences" Guess they wanted a fair share of the pie and got a kick in the nüts for that.

Nah, thats not the reason why the DTM has no races on the Sachsenring (as far as I know).
There is a restriction on how many times the GP layout can be used due to noise, and there are too many other series.
