I can reproduce the sound problem of the McLaren. In Spa, when leaving the pit lane, it sounds like the headset is broken. I have not touched the sound settings in RRE. My output device is a Rift CV1.
Yes, SPA 100%. And Zolder. The first thing I thought of when I heard that sound was that my headphones was broken. Yes, there is. But the answer above excludes this problem.
I had this sound problem with the Macca 720 at Assen in sp practice and mp modes. Right headphone channel with stereo or headphone settings cuts off on the circuit between pit entry and pit exit lines and in the pits. Switched to 7.1 mode and started experiencing only a volume drop on those conditions. Strangely, it affects Crew Chief sound output, as well.
Could you try turning off the road feel effect in sound settings and see if that makes a difference please?
I think some of the constant "rattle" is gone, but the sound from the concrete fence is still strange.
Yeah there's something weird with the road feel effect, I think it's supposed to sound like they tyre on the tarmac but in my experience it just brings a strange distortion that is really obvious at lower speeds. I have it off in my settings and the audio is much cleaner. I will have a chat with the sound man about that. I don't know how reverb/echo is handled with walls but it may be something to do with that, in the same way that there's a sound change when going under bridges etc. I'll get some time to test tonight so I'll have a look at it all.
Tested tonight and its the reverb effect causing the problem on this car, in addition to the roadfeel thing that affects all cars. Its been reported. In the meantime, reduce reverb effect to 75% and your audio should be clear.
Thank you! Reduced the reverb to 75. Sometimes I notice interference in the exhaust sound, but it's almost imperceptible.
I see there are no McLarens in either DTM or ADAC 22 series so that car is going to be quite exclusive. Note 29 full time entries in DTM22 with new cars being M4 and Audi Evo2.
