As the title suggests I had 2 crashes during races tonight, on my server.:( That's a first as so far everything has ran smoothly. I had 20 player on, practice and qually ran perfectly but the race crashed about 5 minutes in both times. Can anyone give me an idea of what might have happened.

I guess it was the Backmakers Unite-Server?

I had the same crash in one race but before I had a crash in practice. After restarting the game the server wasn't available.

Is Server and Game running on the same Machine?

They are running on separate pcs. The server never showed anything wrong and I can't see any crash files. I also experienced my wheel jammed to the extreme left as others reported.

Not sure if anything is going on with the servers but I had my first crash last weekend, faultless til then, have dropped a message to the Devs as it appears it may be one of the participating clients running certain s/ware or h/ware causing this. There is another thread but no resolution, believe they went pm toward end of thread.

    Hello,

Do you have any crash logs and Game logs from these sessions?
If so, please create a ticket on our support http://support.raceroomracingexperience.com/index.php/ and include those files in your message.

    To find these files:
    Crash dump - Documents\My Games\SimBin\Crash Dumps
    Game log - Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData\Log

Look at the creation times for these files to make sure you send the correct one.

No Crash Dumps (the folder's empty and I'm not really sure what the times were, hopefully the patch next week will sort it out.

And no crash dumps for you either?
Could you guys check in the Windows Event viewer and see if that catches anything?

    To do this:

    · Open the Windows Start menu
    · Search for Event viewer and open it
    · In the window that appears you'll see several lists. Look at the one on the far left.
    · Click the folder called "Windows logs" and in the list inside of the folder, select "Application".

This will bring up a list of events in the center part of the window. Look for any event labeled "Error" and check the time stamp so it matches your crash.

Select the error event and take a screenshot of, or copy, the text that appears below in the section named "General". We are looking for a line called "Fault offset" this could point us toward what caused the issue.

Then please send us the image or text so we can investigate it further.

Regarding to the Crash descriped in the OP by Kendo I didn't have a Crash-Dump, too. I'll have a look for the Windows-Logs when I'm at home after work.
I'm pretty sure that there must be an entry in the windows-log as a pop-up came up with the info that the Application stops unexpectetly - and that was not the typical R3E-Crash-Dump- Message.

    Hi @Hannes Wallstedt ,
here is the requested Error-Message from the Windows-Log. Hope it is ok that it is in German. I've marked the Fault-Offset in the Quote and attached the message in a text-file.

Thanks for that. I've created a bug report in our tracker for this issue.

Sonat was asking whether you guys who are hosting servers where this error occurred could also send us the output.log file that should be located in this folder on your server machine?

@Hannes Wallstedt: I am sorry but I don`t have crash dumps. My problems started last week. Yesterday the game crashed and I had to go to the Task-Manager with Strg-Alt-Del but I even couldn`t close the game there. So I had to restart my computer.

In Multiplayer-Games I regulary loose the Connection (for Example yesterday in a Leagues Race in the last corner  ). The game send me in die third person view und after a few seconds I am in the game menu.

As I said, there are no Crash Dumps. I didn`t change anything and the game worked perfect till last. What can I do?

I've had this before but thought this only happens when the server stops transmitting data because when I return to server list the host is missing. Happens quite a lot if the host gets taken out on track and wants his ball back! :D

I had a similar problem. Lasted 3 weeks. It seemed to me like something was interrupting the connection to the server. I never did get to the cause despite trying my brother's router, new cables, kicking the dog, re-installing drivers, sacrificing a goat to the internet gods.etc etc. Now, apart from the occasional disconnect it works great.
