I keep trying VR every few months, still broken for me. Have tried different GPUs, different drivers, driver cleaning, game reinstall, -vr flag, steamvr, all different steam vr settings Mirrors and overlays are fine, the rest of the screen is extremely blurry all other games work fine in VR - ac, iracing, acc, project cars, rfactor
hm, I know there were some other users describing such a behavior but i don't know the solution anymore... Maybe it is any super-sampling-setting in the WMR-Driver?
only WMR setting i can find is headset visual quality.. it was on auto, i forced high, but it's the same result again
Know someone who might have had the same issue and they resolved it by running VR through the steam popup menu when you press Play rather than using the -vr start command.
also that screenshot looks different to what i experience. for me while the game rendering is blurry and pixelated, the overlays/text/mirrors are perfectly crisp.
Supersampling settings in Steam VR are checked? Do you use any startup parameters for Raceroom? Do you have some driver relevant settings for Raceroom? Do you use other apps for WMR setup?
have tried with super sampling settings set and unset in vr and with varying application and global settings, doesnt change anything only parameters for raceroom is the vr parameter when ive tried VR with it no other driver settings no other WMR apps/settings
remove that parameter - there is no need for that parameter Start Raceroom without VR. Set your Graphics as needed for your normal monitor - resolution 1920x1080 for example. Than exit Raceroom and start it from Steam and select "Start Raceroom (64bit) in VR-Mode" as shown below:
for the third time, ive tried with no parameter and instead using steam vr directly and the result is the same
OK, last chance : In Steam VR, there are two settings for supersampling. 1. Per App. There you can choose your SS for Raceroom or other apps only. Please don't do that. Seems that Steam VR don't handle this correct. Here you have to left the default settings - 100 2. Global SS for SteamVR. You have to use this. And do not use the Startup Parameters, delete everything out of it. Start SteamVR and than Raceroom via click on the Start in VR Button. Hoping this helps. You've to look for it, as I don't sit in front of my home PC. If this is not working for you I really don't have another idea
Thanks for trying to help I made sure launch options was clear which it was I set the app level SS back to 100.. ive tried different settings on this tried again, start in vr.. start 64bit in steam vr... and again same result
Figured it out Started with a fresh windows install Reinstalled steam and nvidia drivers. Pointed steam to my old steam library - same issue.. Removed the library and installed steamvr/wmr/RRE fresh.. finally it worked correctly. Given I had previously reinstalled fresh steamvr/rre numerous times but never the WMR (Windows Mixed Reality drivers) component of steam it must be that!
still some funny business going on ends up it actually only works correctly when i have RRE installed to the same drive as my main steam install. I usually have steam on one drive, and a steam library of games elsewhere. All other games are fine. But at least Im able to play it now with VR by having RRE on the same library
I have the same issue on a new PC ive just built. I tried everything above you have mention with no luck at all. I have no fucking idea why this is happening. Everything works fine on my old PC.
