Hello, Since I have my Fanatec DD2, sometimes my direction is very granular specialy in the pit-lane when the car is stopped. Despite formatting, I still have this problem of granular direction stopped randomly, I have the impression that it happens in between two sessions, as if something remained in the "cache memory" of the ffb ... A game restart and things return to normal. Is this problem known and is there a way to solve it ? Thanks
More stuff about this problem: No later than this afternoon, I'm going on a Suzuka lap in group C, I find the FFB "vibrating" as if the effects was masked by a slight vibration, then I go on dubai with the M235i, everything is fine, FFB identical to what I know with this car (I drove yesterday with a good part of the evening), and finally I go back to Suzuka with Group C and there the FFB is impeccable ...
I don't think so, this noon, the ffb was weird as soon as I entered the track but the steering wasn't granular when the car was stopped.
I have more stuff about my problem. Sometimes when I'm in the pits and I pass the first gear and I turn the wheel I feel vibrations as a kind of motor vibration while this setting is set to zero. Also I feel that it is not happening offline. I need to do more tests to confirm that. I think all these symptoms are related.
I have heard through some of our testers that there is some issue happening to FFB with some Fanatec wheels after doing like 4 or 5 consecutive gameplay sessions. I'm not sure at all if this applies to the DD2 but I recently caught wind of it and something got listed as a known issue in a driver release not long ago -> https://forum.fanatec.com/discussion/1058/fanatec-beta-driver-v347-for-csl-csw-all-wheels Can you please help us figure this out by doing the following: - State your Fanatec driver / firmware versions / Operating system - Play the game normally. - As soon as you notice the FFB broke, close the game. - Collect the following files: C:\Users\Public\Fanatec Logs\ *.* (zip them all up and share the zip) C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData\Log\ Game_*.log (Take the last generate one that corresponds to the date and time of the gameplay session where the issue occured). - Share those files with us here. Tagging @DomB in case there's anything else that would be interesting to know.
Hi @J-F Chardon and @DomB , 1st step: Fanatec driver 335 / Wheelbase firmware 653, Motor firmware 30 / windows 10 Familly 1903 version 18362.418 2nd step to come
Here are the files of a session where the ffb is weird. And it happens in "solo", so I was wrong. Hope it helps @J-F Chardon @DomB
"** FW-FFB Error tracing for C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\raceroom racing experience\Game\x64\RRRE64.exe **" That's already not a good sign, I guess?
@STISH the game.log you attached only contains one loading event and no session change. Are you saying that it felt weird right off the bat this time? No need for multiple loads or session changes? What I can see is that the game reports hearing back from the Fanatec driver and logs successfully downloading effects.
Yes that's it. Sometimes it happens in the first session. It is very very random. That's why I'm lost. So that's mean the issue is more on the fanatec side?
Last night, I had a championship race with my team. I go on the server (suzuka group C), weird. I go out, I go in "solo" (suzuka group C), weird. I'm going on the Zonda competition, weird. I go back to the server (suzuka group C), weird. I go in "solo" (m235i, suzuka), normal. I go back to the server (suzuka group C), normal. Then server will go from testing to qualifying, then warm-up and to finish race and everything remained OK. I am completely lost, I can not identify a pattern that would work every time.
@DomB , do you think trying beta drivers could help my problem ? I began to feel this strange feeling, about 2 weeks ago, I do not know if it can help Otherwise, I tried ACC (on which I have never driven since I have DD2) and everything seems OK.
@STISH You have described different behaviour within the same game, and that the wheel seems to work ok in a different title. Therefore my guess would be that this is a game-specific issue, perhaps unique to your PC or RaceRoom configuration. However, I have reported it, and we will look into it. There is no harm in trying the beta drivers. I suggest 340 and 345.
@DomB Thank you for your answer There is someone on my forum (RFRO) who seems to have the same problem but with a T300. I also think that something is happening in Raceroom since the last update, but everything seems OK in the logs I sent from @J-F Chardon . I hope that miraculously everything will return to normal during the deployment of a new patch.
This is quite puzzling as we didn't change anything in the last update that has anything to do with the Fanatec SDK, or FFB. Can you try something - Enable the FFB meter and check if the graph is going above the red line. Maybe you're "clipping" in some cases and going above the limit, in which case try and lower the FFB Multiplier in the car setup.
