Same problem here, my favourite cars and tracks are not correct anymore. They haven't been updated for a long time. I did count them myself and they are completely not correct.
I think it's still working because the 2016 DTM Merc appeared in my stats just recently. If I remember correctly, the favorite car is not based on completed laps but the number of sessions entered with it.
So if i understand correct it's not based on the number of laps or driven distance, but just the number of sessions entered ? Is it the same for tracks ?
By the way, when I try to look at somebody's Purchased Content Tab - I can see full list of game's content, but they all appearing in gray shadow, so I don't understand what person has for real.
