Speaking of FFB- Occasionally I try to go back to Project Cars after Raceroom's stellar FFB has ruined all other games' FFBs for me.

Can't be done. I tried so hard to tweak PCars' FFB to make it decent, but its just so bad. With all due respect to Asseto Corsa too, Raceroom's FFB is the ONLY great FFB Iv'e found. At least for my wheel (T150).

For instance both PCars and AC didn't map all kerbs to rumble like RR did. Only some of them, randomly, it seems.
Also only RR has that rumble effect when you lose traction. The best progressive steering resistance (PCars for me has none) The best bump effects, the best settings menu, etc.

Actually AC has the slip effect. AC's FFB is not bad.

raceroom, automobilista and rfactor2 have excellent ffb, in rfactor2 depend the mod, someones regular, and someones are amazing, automobilista is fenomenal, and very easy to find the point, raceroom have a lot of parameters, but when you find the point, is fantastic.

Yup I'm with you Squanchy, Race Room has ruined most sims for me, love the FFB and the sound is amazing, I also like the latest update to the AI as well.
I tried rFactor 2 and Automobilista, but just could not get my head around the setting up of the Fanatec Wheel. I just didn't work for me, in fact I could barely get the wheel to work at all with them. I know it was something I was doing but I couldn't figure it.
I must admit as well that Assetto has improved a lot since the last update. The tire model seems to have got a lot better. If I had one complaint about RRE, I wish they would put in the ability to adjust the tire pressures. Apart form that it is my go to game.

I gather you have not played Automobilista. If you have and still think RRE has better FFB then you are doing something very wrong

I revisited Rfactor 2 yesterday and after a couple of hours stuffing around to get the Fanatec wheel to work I finally got on the track. The FFB and tire model is amazing. The issue I have is firstly, I have not had enough time with the game, the other issue is it just seems that it is hacked together and not polished. Raceroom is improving in leaps and bounds, I hope RF2 improves as I am sure to will. Overall it is a good sim, just need to be refined in the hardware and menu systems, just my opinion.

G25 Finally some road feel!! guys i have to share my setup with you and what ive learned from using this g25. So with us g25/27 users the deadzone obviously ruins our straight line road feel but with my setup Ive managed to bring the road noise up and keep the wheel strength down (the pulling factor on the wheel) so here is my guide:

    Force Feeback intensity - 100%
    Smoothing - 0%
    spring 0%
    damper 0 %

Now to get the Bumps on the straight to punch through I have set the steering force feeback to 200% this amplifies the road bumps but also amplifies everything else so late on you will notice my kerb and shift effects are quite low.
    so
    Steering Force Feedback - 200%
    Minimum Force Feedback - 20%
Understeer - 0% ( i dont like the effect because it gets too light to quick and the counter steer then is too heavy)
    Vertical Load - 90%
    Lateral Load - 0%
now ive tested both these in different combinations and they basically do the same thing... the code that determines the vibrations on the wheel from bumps oversteer understeer and cornering forces apply on both of these BUT! the lateral forces adds alot of steering stiffness where as vertical adds only a very tiny amount. now because I have steering feedback at 200% the steering stiffness can get out of hand really quick. so if vertical and lateral both give me bump and tire feels I prefer to have vertical only as i dont lose any information and get less steering stiffnes... because the minimum force feedback also adds some steering stiffness i have reduced the vertical load 10% to lighten the wheel up and bit, i also tried 10% minimum force and 100% vertical but the bumps on the straights dont punch through, so aim for 15-25% minimum feedback and 85%- 95% vertical to suit , btu this is the best setup IF you want to feel the Road as best possible.

    Steering Rack is at 0%
i find the oversteer and understeer tension is perfect already and this would only add more stiffness and muddy up the dynamics of the vertical feeling so for us g25/27 we need as much converstion with the floor when near the center of the wheel and this will just take some sensitivtiy out of it.

    slip effect 0%
again it just takes away some emphasis on the tire/bumps in cornering but can add in to taste .. you would only need a tiny bit as we are at 200% FFB
    engine - 0% as above
Kerb 15% doesnt need much as the vertical has it covered
    Shift 10% same as above

now when you go off track it can be a little rough but thats the price you pay to get the road surface to kick through for our weak centered wheels

I mainly race the Porche gt3 - DTM - Sillouette with FFB multiplier 1.000 and these setting translate very well , but for open seated cars you need to increase the multiplier to get the same feeling
    Hope you like it!!

Please Add Me if you wanna race

Hi all, finally CSL Elite got support with the last patch and I'm trying to adjust FFB settings for my liking. I'm trying to go for a pure FFB rather than canned effects. If anyone wants to give it a shot here is my settings:

    On wheelbase:

Sens Aut, FF 100, For 100, Sho 0, Dri 3, Abs off, Lin 000, Dea 000, Spr off, Dpr off.

    In game:

    Inverted Force Feedback: On
    Force Feedback Intensity: 100%
    Smoothing: 0%
    Force Feedback Spring: 0%
    Force Feedback Damper: 0%
    Steering Force Intensity: 75%
    Force Feedback Minimum Force: 3%
    Understeer: 0%
    Vertical Load: 45%
    Lateral Force: 55%
    Steering Rack: 50%
    Slip Effect: 0%
    Engine Vibrations: 0%
    Curb Vibrations: 0%
    Shift Effect: 0%

Hi, I have a CSL Elite base with Formula Wheel.
When you set the sensitivity to Aut, does it use 540 degrees? Isn't that a bit too much for some cars?

No it sets the DOR automatically for each car like (I'm not really sure about the numbers) 900 degrees for DTM 92 cars and 360 for open wheelers. I think setting Sen to Auto and letting the game to set the correct DOR is the absolute way to drive each car as they are designed to be driven.

sorry, I dont agree with you that the ffb in raceroom is better. earlier I had also a rumble if I loose transaction, then I red a very good manual in assetto corsa for ffb and I set the slipery effect to zero. Now if I drive in assetto and if I loose the grip, you feel immediately how the ffb drag reduce and is coming back if you get new grip. Thats for me much more finer and a better feeling than the rumble.

I can advise anybody with a CSW V2 or better to test the settings mentioned in post #998 (in the link below). Plain brilliant in my opinion! Just raise the FFB intensity up to 13-15% and add some vertical load 10-15% if you are riding with Fanatec gear (both ingame). Then tweak the FFB mulitplier for each car to the corresponding clip limits. Sens Aut, FF 100, For 100, Sho 0, Dri 3, Abs off, Lin 000, Dea 000, Spr off, Dpr off.
