They were, and their cars are homologated for TCR. Here you can find all homologated cars so far: http://www.tcr-series.com/inside-tcr/homologated-cars
However that only means that the car is ready to be used in TCR regulated races and series, but it doesn't necessitate an entry in WTCR.

...but hey, 7 brands for the WTCR! That’s great and about two times more than the WTCC series got! I’m really happy about that...:)

Maybe we can have a generic TCR series one day much like the GTR3 class? WTCR will be a great addition but having a broader range of TCR cars in their own class so we can create our own TCR grids would be awesome.

definitely... great field already... will be interessting to see, if the Alfa will be part of it in a possible WTCR-Class in Raceroom, too...

IMO a bit sad, that none of the WTCR-Teams decided for the Opel Astra. Not that I'm an Opel-Fan, but would be nice to have them back in an international Racing-Series... And the car seems to perform quite well, as it could reach some good results and even a victoriy in germanys TCR-Series last year + it was the fastest Car in last weeks ADAC TCR Germany-Test...

"Following the #WTCR launch, which team, driver or livery do you most look forward to enjoying in @raceroom ?"

If you read this quote on twitter, i suppose it means we are getting every car, driver and livery from the WTCR series.

I don't think we have to wait until 2019, i think we are getting this in a few months.

you really think that they start now after announcing it? they learned their lessons and only announce when there's something almost ready :)

and see @m.bohlken 's screenshot. I always had the RS3 lights in mind and knew that some TCR stuff will come.

But they changed the way they communicate. Now the news came directly with the option of driving the Audi. And I think the WTCR has some major interest to get this running within the season!

OK ok, but lets see the logic...in 2016 they didnt know what brands would came to WTCR....the Audi was a TCR car already, so they have it made.... They have to build from scratch the new Honda, Alfa, Peugout, Leon, Golf..... that takes long time, and you know that they anounce 1 car and only gets done after 1 year.
Dont get me wrong, i would love if they could manage it quikcly , but i dont have my hopes on it.
If so, TAKE MY MONEY :D:D
