Fancy the "what about tyre compounds" chaps/chapesses will not have to wait too much longer, tyre compound update will be in next months Patch, evolution baby!
Some people cant help but complain. And the forum does get pretty lonely without them, right... right... And if someone thinks RR's damage model is bad... check out nearly any other game in the genre... RR's is quite detailed in comparison with body parts warping, etc.
I think he means that crashes should have more serious consequences like a puncture or messed up suspension, broken axle etc. At the moment it's too forgiving.
@nate: you are right. Some people are always complaining. But there is no reason to defend the damage model. The damage model ist not good. It`s nearly not existing. I can live with it, but I would love this sim even more if S3 would work on this.
I'm confused,so In a racing simulation you are supposed to crash around without the car suffering any significant damage?I raced the f2 at macau the other day crashed 5-6 times,2 of them quite hard, yet ended the race like nothing happened,What is sim-y about that?Personally I'm not interested in the eye candy part of the crash, bits and pieces and all that, but for the mechanical and/or aero damage
So in a simulation game that is supposed to be realistic, it's realistic to hit the wall with a open wheel car in 100-200kph(not tested to much about how hard you can hit, but hard atleast...) and get 0 damage? I don't care or want Wreckfest damage model ofc, but still it is simulation of open wheel car's and not tanks. So basic front wing damage, wheel comes off and ofc more mechanical damage should be added to a sim game yes, in my opinion ofc.
And this must also be valid for the AI PS : Thanks Sector3studios, your simu improves with every update I'm having fun.
I completely see you guys' point, but I personally don't mind the visual damage lacking slightly so long as the mechanical damage is decent. If I crash, I'm annoyed that the race is over, but I don't personally replay it much.
But that is also the thing I told in my post, mechanical damage. That is also very lacking right now, when I told hit the wall in high speed I don't only talk about visual damage, But mechanical
Agree with you guys. If we take rFactor 2 for example : if you don't care with your car, the mechanics of your car can be damaged very fast and easily. A single bump with an other car could have devastating effects in your car but not in RaceRoom... This is one of the reasons we have so many wreckers in lobby sessions because they don't give a damn sh** to their car's state
don't confuse what you think is realistic with what is realistic. imho realistic is something between R3E and rf2, and i consider unrealistic both in the opposite way.
Well, I have taken rF2 for my example but I could have taken iRacing if I want. I have just taken an example just to explain my point of view. Moreover, imho realistic is somethig close of BeamNG.Drive, which is above rF2 in terms of damage but this is not a sim-racing game...
Imma let you finish, but before you do, you need to see the greatest hardcore sim racing video ever made. Ever!
