I personally change the FOV one single time to my preferred value and that's it. FOV is a very specific setting, where you have to get used to. A bigger FOV change can hugely impact your driving, because of a very different vision, how you see the track in front of you. I would rather see a change from the current non-transparent "0.8x,1.0x,1.2x,etc. FOV-multiplicator" system to a more classic "FOV in degree" system.
I also only set it 1 time. I used this http://www.projectimmersion.com/fov/index.php FOV calculator to set my personal R3E FOV.
It is the one feature that I find strangely missing in RRRE. A comprehensive FOV adjuster for both vertical & horizontal is essential in my opinion and the current settings are extremely limited.
This is my current FOV in P Cars. I use a very similar view in Raceroom. Apart from having true triple screen support, as seen in Asseto Corsa, I fail to see how FOV configuration, could be bettered in either P Cars or Raceroom. Am I missing something?
why? .. you either calculate your correct FOV or find one value that works for you and you stick with it ... changing it will change you scaling, perspective, distances perception, messed up you braking points, sense of speed ... don`t really see why anybody would wanna do that I mean option for setting it ingame with keys wouldn`t hurt but considering that I`m gonna do that once, it doesn`t really bother me .... Personally I would like to see actual vFOV value instead of multiplier that covers more vFOV values
Why ? I say it is needed because I like to change it per car due to drive from cockpit and clear view changes from car to car. Scale, apexes etc. Never bother me as brain adjusts. More prefer what I see using large 40" screen. All about pers prefs & having easy options like with quick change in-game button for select Gated H or Sequential shift ... choice !
I have a fixed 0.7x fov set already and I always use that when I drive. Never touched it since then cause as you said there's a lot related to the fov and space perception. That said I found tedious the task of going into options, change the fov to 1x, then load my replays, record my video footage, quit the replay, go back to options, reset the fov to 0.7 and then go back racing again. Button for change on the fly: adjust in no time and you're good. Usability.
Why do you keep correcting the wheel like that? Is because of the ffb? Is the car unstable on the straight? For some reason looking at that wheel upsets me...!
it looks like bad case of oscilation issue ... strange how such a minor thing could be visually so anoying
