Resolved Freeze WTCC Spa Competition

Hard to say now. Why? Note that I restart session often so it's not related with end of session timer.
I'm wondering if it could be related with time improvement. Yesterday I improved several times and had several crashes, today I didn't improve and no crash. And I remember one case this week-end where I improved my time, it was recorded online but my ghost was not updated, then it crashed soon after when I lost the car, sliding... crash.

 

The session was 33min long. I was following my Audi ghost with my new best time and after turn 6 there was the freeze. Had to restart my pc and there was no crash dump. Same freeze like while the league race on Friday. V8Olli reported it. Since then I didn't started raceroom again. But there was no freeze after I drove a best lap time before.

 

You can check the Event viewer in Windows. Error messages (code 1002: Application hang) will be there.

 

If you can reach the task manager you can right click r3e and generate a image file, which is equal to crash dump

 

Now I did. Let's see if this has some effect.

 

Just had a crash (not a freeze, game was closed by Windows) on Spa WTCC Open server, around end of qualifications, I drove through the finish line and did a slide with hand brake as is customary at end of qualif ^^, and game again crashed while car was sliding... No race for me.

 

Sorry I already had a look and nothing new in the directory.

 

Yep, something screwy is going on with the competitions and leaderboards. Three of us over at RD are having the same problem.
It seems to happen whenever you catch your ghost, although it doesn't happen every time.
No crashdumps, since R3E doesn't crash per se, it's an AppHang issue.
I'll see if I can reproduce it, and get a dump through the task-manager.

 

I also confirm that my ghost is sometimes not recorded when I beat it, it happened several times this last days in WTCC leaderboards.

 

Gotta love the service around here.

 

Nice. However I wasn't always challenging ghost from another player and it also happened once while qualifying online. I'll let you know if it happens again.
