Question - Seems like I always use much less fuel than expected in a typical online MP race....for instance, for a Spa 20 minute DTM 92 race, laptimes are in 2:25 neighborhood so i might start with 9 laps worth of fuel (using built in fuel lap calculator). This should maybe give me an extra lap cushion. But what usually happens is on maybe penultimate lap crew chief kicks in saying "you've used half your fuel". Granted, i'm assuming crew chief is accurate but this is a pretty regular occurrence on many different tracks and cars...anyone else notice this, or is my logic off?
The internal fuel calculator is pretty conservative. Use an external app like RS Dash or Proracing Dashboard to get the real average consumption while you are in practice.
Yeah, the estimated laps from the garage are quite cautious in their estimations, at least it's not the other way around. This way you'll know you're not going to run out of fuel, and rewards that extra time in practice etc. to perfect your setup.
Thanks for the info guys, i will just start setting fuel a bit riskier (or properly monitoring as @Pfalzdriver suggests
