Did this.. Right Click on the game in the steam library. · Click "properties." · Click "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS..." · Enter -cefNoGPU -cefNoBlacklist in the text field. · Click Ok. · Start the game. Works for me.. No further crashes at all.. WWWRRROOOAAHHH!!
I am getting a lot of crashes but sadly it's my driving...no other third parties can be blamed at this time
Could you please explain, what exactly this command does to the game or/and to your hardware? I am worrying about these words "NoGPU".
I didn't see any obvious changes with the hotfix, is there any dynamic advertising at all in the game?
It disables hardware acceleration in the menu/portal. Usually this fixes issues were people don't see the main menu, just a black screen or only the background movie but not the buttons. In this case it might just have been a coincidence, the crashes that people were experiencing and which the hotfix addresses shouldn't have anything to do with this.
I know i didnt ask but cheers, my gpu was under constant load with the background vid (fan firing up like crazy) plus i only ever see the same one Merc Gt leaving the pits, that switch enabled me to see many plus my gpu isnt going like a goodun for no reason at all. It should be the default setting. Now i get the guys question the other day about the intro and car vids !! So to my question, is there a list of CL switches anywhere and their uses?
Yeah - I asked my self, if it wouldn't be possible to have the -NoGPU as a default-setting or something like that. Maybe catching the Error that leads to the crash and automatically restart with -NoGPU-Option. I guess it has something todo with Chromium. I've noticed quite a lot Game-Crashing-Topics that were solved with the -NoGPU-Option. And for those who get that Error-Message it is often the first impression of the game. So I guess the Topics here and the Helpdesk-Tickets are only the Tip of the Iceberg and for the others that would/could be the last impression as it is F2P and they haven't spend anything - just download-time.
Cool, cheers, a use all cores would be great, I know, i know! Yes, i have a decent gpu with decent cooling but the background vids were pushing it as hard as a race with 20 cars on track (going by fan noise alone), i would imagine if the fans were a little clogged or not so powerful it could quite easily overheat and cause a crash, add to that that i just assumed there was only one short background vid cycling over and over and was missing the others without even knowing it. Default, would be a safe start like you say, how many people have tried it and crashed then just walked away with a fk it its shit cant even get to the main menu, then go telling everyman and his dog not too bother cause it just dont work!
Yeah me to, but it workes for now..and I really don't know crap of these things..sorry lol..But there whas another update this afternoon? Maybe they fixed it.. Never the less, terrible when these things happen..most of us spended like a 100 euro+ on the game..might expect it to work properly..
