Alright, I need a Beatles expert (I think), who's willing to help? Thing is a mate played a little tune on his Zither (bavarian instrument) and I can't figure out the song and of course he won't tell me. I'm pretty sure it's from the Beatles, probably even quite well known, it sounds so familiar. I recorded a bit, it's attached below and if anybody recognizes the song I'd be grateful if you'd let me know.
Very nice playing. I think it might be "Across the Universe". The melody your friend is playing sounds like the "nothing's gonna change my world" refrain.
Yes. YES. That is it! Oh man, thank you very very much. I wish I could give you something as a thank you, but I'm afraid apart from my endless pearls of wisdom there's not much I can offer atm. And yes, he's very good. Well he better be, he studied music and is a pro. We have this little guess-the-song game going and usually I'm pretty good at it, but this time not so much. And now I remember having heard it in the Let It Be movie. Again, thanks a lot, and big time kudos for remembering the song from listening to this version of the refrain, you've made an old man very happy, and enabled him to be a total smartass again.
Cheers. I knew all that time wasted listening to legendary bands from before I was born would pay off one day.
The thing that amazes me about this little aussie band (other than just their unique sound) is just how good their live performances are. there is almost no difference in quality live vs recorded other than the quality of mic. Live Studio Recorded
Totally different to what has been posted but if i had to pick one or two tracks Peter Sarstedt - Where Do You Go To My Lovely Followed by Sylvias Mother, Dr Hook Love the words, the sounds, just really nice songs. Thats two Two of my all time favourites tho, i like alsorts from the fifties right thru to today. Edit - Were these supposed to be racing related? LOL
A little tribute to Deftones. Don't know any band that is able to bring strong (and dark) riffs and wonderful (vocal) melodies together like they do. A collection of some of my personal favorites : With Maynard James Keenan :
...and two superb Live Recordings from Rammstein in NYC. Man, they really changed the old "Krautrock" into something substantial , not to mention the show. And they're all in their Fifties now....
