Hi guys, I was hoping someone could help me with a problem I’m having with GTR2 which I purchased from Steam a few days ago?

When I try and open GTR2, I get this message,

    Error GTR2 1.1000 has crashed
    Please submit the file
    UserData\Log\Minidump\GTR2_1.1000-20170810-122657-10732
    dmp
along with a description of what you think could have caused the crash
to SimBin Error GTR2 1.1000 has crashed

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi, as the error message said, you should join this file to your post, it contains clues about the error. But not sure someone still can help about GTR2...

    The message you quoted:
Look probably in the GTR2 game folder, to find the folders "UserData\Log...." and finally the file "GTR2_1.1000-20170810-122657-10732.dmp".
Then attach this file to your answer. :)

Search tool in Windows is a pain that takes forever, better to look manually.
I suppose GTR2 is installed in some location like : C:\Program Files\Simbin\GTR2 or C:\Program Files\GTR2, then look for the folder UserData in this.

    Searched everywhere.
Can't find anything named simbin or GTR2.
I feel a bit out of my depth to be honest and never thought I'd have to do anything like this after buying a game!

Look in folders in "My Documents", still searching for "Simbin", "GTR2", or on your desktop, I don't have this game anymore ... But honestly, even if you find the crash dump file, I don't know if you'll get much support here. I just can help you to find this file. :)

I didn't read this whole thread. But, I can tell you that there is a really strong GTR2 following in the NoGripRacing forum here http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=62. You might get more help there, as they are much more actively involved and knowledgeable in that sim. (Which is still one still of my personal favorites.) You should look into the Power&Glory and TuneCar mods while your there. It is a privately run forum. So if you like what they are doing you might consider throwing in a few bucks to support them. In any event they are a great bunch of people who are always willing to help anyone who needs it.

Yes, and you see the "UserData" folder? Now find the file
"UserData\Log\Minidump\GTR2_1.1000-20170810-122657-10732.dmp" and attach it to your post or on the forum linked by @GregoryLeo . ;)

Thank you for all your help (sorry I was so rubish!)
I'm up and running now, downloading the recommended patches did the trick.
Thanks again for all the help.

Can anyone help me with this? I just got this game today and I'm going through the same problem as the guy who started this post. It keeps telling me to submit this file and I don't know what I'm doing. I have a windows 10 laptop and its not letting this game run.

The nogrip Racing forum is shut down. You will find active gtr2 groups who can help you with this. In the drivingitalia forum and the bierbudy group of forums. Which also has a gtr2 group. But I cant recal the name of the group.
    Hope this helps
    Good luck.
P.S. the bierbudy is a German forum. So you may need a translator program for both to communicate unless you speak those languages. Plus both forums have active multiplayer groups.

I'm pretty sure these old games need to be run as administrator and in legacy win7 mode. Find the .exe for gtr2 and right click it, go to properties (or something like that) and make the changes. It should run after that.
