I don't think there would be a better release window than now! If they wait they will be competing with AMS2 as as is now the newest sim is AC and its numbers have dropped off.
They aren't going to compete with AMS2... You can find a lot of games featuring the same content but no one with AMS2 cars/tracks roster...and if you are addicted to it since AMS1 there is no battle... If you don't like AMS content but already have one of the current sim featuring GT cars well...there is no hurry to buy GTR3, wait for reviews...
Maybe this is all true and GT3 does in fact exist, would explain the snails pace at RR, you know, if everyone's busy elsewhere. I would say that Simbin defo need a new promotional team, if I didn't know better, I'd think this is nothing more than a tax fraud or front for a financing scam. The fact that GT3's are in every Sim now, perhaps a change of name might be on the cards. There is one positive I can see, to survive in the modern Sim world, especially with the GT3 moniker, they will have to have a full field, which means Ferrari, Lambo, Aston Martin etc etc will have to be present, which could mean......................... nah, with those tiny T-Rex arms and the wallet being in those Brummie Bags, not a chance!
Do we really need another sim with GT3 cars, as GooseCreature says every sim these days has them. Surely what Simbin & Raceroom need is to build their own niche market with content that other sims don't have, & god knows there are plenty of race cars both modern & historic to chose from.
Well a small new niche opened while Project Cars going "Barbie & Ken" with their latest "product" ...but Simbin have to be fast...so basically.... uhm...no, forget about it... .
btw the most interesting bit is the "working alongside our other sister studios (more than one?) to incorporate interesting and practical real world applications for GTR3 (what's that supposed to mean? it sounds like using the assets/technologies in other projects, right?)"
the name is GTR3 because the "predecessor's" name was GTR2... that doesn't mean that there have to be (only) GT3 cars.
well the best for me would be to just have one driving simulator, since going between different sims isnt doing me any favours in terms of adjusting to the car handling, but heck I still buy and play them all I will for sure buy GTR3 (unless its crappy ofc)
