Mo no no no no this is bad R3E is the only sim that i can run this new engine will blow up my computer better I start saving money to build a new one
Moving to Unreal4 Engine, what does this mean for already existing content like tracks, cars, physics, ffb,...? What efforts does this take? Does everything have to be rebuild, is there a way of porting? Does it make any sense of building new content simultaneously? Sorry, but to this matter I'm rather "noobish". Just wan to know. Thanks for any education.
Somebody pinch me, did I just die and go to a better place!?! AWESOME news... looking forward to when ever it happens For now I got my eye set on Nordschleife... wroom!
So,if I got this right, the WHOLE Raceroom content will be rebuild from the custom ISI engine to Unreal?Essentially,we are talking about a new game with changed graphics, physics,UI etc. That will surely take quite some time to be completed. It will be interesting to find out the logistics of that move.
Great news, thanks for sharing a bit of info what is cooking. @fischhaltefolie The existing content is foremost built in tools that are engine agnostic. Hence they can do those tech prototypes with relative "ease". Easier to export something you have in another engine than building the engine with all the extra fx. All the existing code on ffb/driving physics/ai, is not gonna go away. It's mostly about modularizing things, learning how to integrate it with ue4. Or evaluating if some stuff is better handled with other ue4 modules. This choice is really about making the best use of what is available: both technology and people familiar with that technology. It's still work and not something to put a soon state on, but sounds like a great light for all those worried about the tech vr/weather/day-night. It doesn't make the work for the current verson of the game wasteful, as the majority of code people look for is core gameplay logic, that would be reusable if written well. This can help attract more programming talent to s3s and gives an interesting outlook for the future. Good move to try improve the coding front. Best of luck with the hiring.
R3E hasn't been finished yet and people are talking about the next sim... If this isn't an early preview of a possible game upgrade then Sector 3 will lose me as a customer.
If i got things right from the first post it confirms that this is only a update/upgrade to the current title...
