Is it normal to lap 4 seconds faster than the AI on 100 percent at Spa? That's what folk manage in multiplayer. I do about 2.33 in a GT4, AI do about the same on 100 percent. Seems unreal folk can do 2.28+ There is not a huge amount to adjust on the gt4 cars.
The slower the cars, the bigger the time difference when you don't get the perfect run out of a corner. Eau Rouge alone makes big differences in laptimes. Also there are enough people who are so fast that they have to put the ai to over 100.
I took AMG and BMW for a spin and looking at my pace I would easily expect the top drivers to do 2:28+. Also: 1) What cars they used? To make the testing easier... 2) AI's pace generally is not the most reliable way to judge someone's pace, AI can have problems on some tracks or is inconsistent between different tracks. 3) Usually AI at 100 is not something special, the best drivers are much faster than that.
Just have a look at the standings of the hotlap competition that ended on last sunday. The top 9 drivers were below 2.30 with the fixed setup and 40 or 50 liters of fuel (I don't remember exactly). https://game.raceroom.com/competitions/1449/leaderboard
I wouldn't say I'm fast, but, AI at 100% is still no match... Usually 1 to 2 seconds faster on every track.
The number 100 has no meaning, a quick driver would have AI set at over 110 for example. I'm a mediocre driver and usually use anywhere between 103 and 107 depending how well I know a track. I am often 3 seconds behind the fastest drivers on MP. That's just the way it is.
Fully agree. I'm doing sims since some decades but drive only about 1h per week. My AI level is also around 105%
