If its taking 5 hours to download it seems the problem is your internet connection? This could explain the long load times too.

I only drive against the AI, never tried multiplayer. The only online racing I do is on iRacing and that works fine. Maybe I should try an online race just to test it.
You should probably post who your isp(internet provider is) and is it just modem/wireless router or do you use your own wireless router ?
