Loving the new update but I'm a bit fuzzy on the manual clutch.

I have no clutch pedal so map the clutch to a button. Should I be able to shift without touching the clutch? If I blip on the downshifts and lift on the upshifts, should this be enough to prevent transmission damage? Is each car different in this regard? That is, do some cars require the use of the clutch? Can some be shifted without? Do some require blipping / lifting and others not? Or do all cars end up with damaged transmission if you don't use the clutch?

Also is it possible to make a decent standing start with auto-clutch enabled?

You need clutch still when downshifting, upshifts without clutch wont damage gearbox though

Is that common to all cars then?

I once drove my little Peugeot 205 home (5 miles) without a clutch after the cable snapped (changing up and down gears by rev matching), does that count?
    Parking was a bitch :D

By "all cars" I meant "all cars in the game", of course :)

Thanks for the info. Does that mean that a properly timed and executed blip won't prevent damage if I downshift without pressing the clutch? I thought a dog box could cope with that?

Any tips on how to get off the starting line when using an auto clutch? I'm losing lots of places :(
