Are McLaren 650S and BMW M6 still running on older physics, same as other GT3 cars? I've noticed that tires have much more stable temperatures, while in newer cars it's more dynamic.
Question to the community: Is there much difference, driving the 650 compared the handling/driving of the 12C?
Well I have to set them up differently but that could well be in the head, find the 650 a tad easier to drive fast but definitely get mid corner drift in high speed turns, more so than the MP4, not sure if the 650 has a bit less downforce or the rear wings setup is different. 650 feels a bit tighter all round and although I've not put it to the test yet, I reckon I'd be quicker in the 650, just! Imo feels better (slightly) all round. Pretty damned sure that was no help at all, always a test drive, fantasy track aside (do personally enjoy it) still a good place to compare the feel. You wouldn't rely on a mates rating on a date (well I wouldn't, end up with Attila the Ho) you'd like to get your own hands on it, so that's my recommendation!
@Anthony Monteil is it possible to muffle the cockpit sound a bit? I think it's too clear at the moment. I watched this video: I know youtube and compression, but currently it sounds like the engine is directly in the cockpit and not in the engine bay which is some sort of insulated. So the sound should be a bit more insulated as well but at the same time should sound a bit more hollow since you have very reflective materials in the cockpit... I hope you understand what I'm trying to say ^^ .. outside sound is perfect. I love the new upshift bangs but sometimes they're a bit too exaggerated. Maybe they could be more randomised? In reality the 650S does these bangs but not so often and not with every upshift. listen here: ... at 4:44 you hear a rare popping upshift.
In the cockpit video, it sounds like the mic is muting a lof of the medium-treble frequencies, but I don't think this is totally accurate though. For sure, this car is quite muffled in the cockpit but probably not as much as in the video. Sadly, our Silverstone cockpit recordings of this car failed as the recorder stopped when the car left the garage (exactly when they put it down on its wheels) and we had only one session opportunity. The sound quality would have been much better... About the external upshifts bangs, I currently have no way to randomize them more, at least not the way I would like them to be. I can only control their volume but they will always play and the number of different bang sounds is limited to 6, which is quite low and I agree that it can easily become repetitive. These are limitations we might look at in the future but for now I'm afraid we'll have to live with it. Sorry for that
