Hi, great work you have done here. Looks beautifull. What board do you use for connecting everything?
A bodnar bu836a with a breakout matrix board. - http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94&products_id=219 - http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94&products_id=274
Will do. Things are looking good. The first beta tester is enjoying the rim I'm currently making the first "production version" which has a lot of improvements from the beta rim. There's no cutting corners to save time, quality first For example the 2 back halfs of the handgrips are printed 100% solid and take more than 9 hours to print.
Good news, The 650S GT3 rim the passed the final strenght test ( or as we like to call it the bodnar test ) Here's the wheel on my friends Bodnar Simsteering V2 (54) The first beta tester liked it so much that he decided to buy it.
Is this the paddle shifters you are using? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1678086 If so, are they as great as they seem? I´m planning to use them in a custom steering wheel button box. I´ll recieve my 3D-printer in the next few days so I can start the creative madness!
My paddle shifters are based on the ones on thingyverse, but they are completely redesigned. If have also experienced a lot with different size magnets and different spacers between the magnets to get the perfect feel. The difference between the first shifter i made and the ones that are now on the 650S GT3 wheel is pretty big.
Looks like Fanatec is coming out with a 650s gt3 like steering wheel. This friday on preorder for next year release
Yes, i know Still great for the sim race community. It looks like the rim will have clutches too, if they got the size right (290-295mm) it's gonna be a "system seller". Still you need a Fanatec wheel base for it to work, perhap a USB conversion might be possible. Let's hope they are not also gonna copy my DTM M4 steering wheel
There are conversions kits for the current fanatec wheels out already. They might just work with this and if not a conversion kit will come out If the price is right this rim will be very popular i think.
Its $260 aud (black friday sale price) and looks amazing, i posted a leaked pic on pc2 forum before i realised it wasn't supposed to be out yet! Its been since removed!
It will be a CSL-Rim as @Svennixx already mentioned. The Teaser-Pics already show CSL elite tags. But if it will be Cheap - I don't know. The £150, 199€/$ is only the pre-Order Black-Friday-Price. So the regular price can be that, too for sure or somewhere between 199€ and 249€.
