The nice thing is...you buy the content you want. I was sort of surprised to see the new open wheel training wheel cars. The only tragedy would be the man hours taken away from developing true racing machinery for R3E. Like the Cadillac ATSVR GT3 Or the new Ford GT GT2 or a myriad of other great cars.
They didn't show Mercedes on stream, so probably model isn't finished yet. McLaren will come first, then Audi and BMW
And I guess it will still need a while... Too many new cars at the moment... That we will see the Mclaren 650S GT3 in a few weeks seems to be sure. The 3D-Model of the Audi R8 LMS and the BMW M6 GT3 where shown alread, so those will be next - 2 Month maybe?!. In between WTCC 1016-Season with the Volvo S60 will be released. After that I would guess we will see the Mercedes AMG GT3 and Corvette C7R. I would guess around April with GT-Masters 2016-Season. So yeah - I guess that is not what you want to hear, but unfortunately patience is needed...
A previous asked question but yet unanswered (i think), will these new cars be included in the current GT3 class, or will there be a new class? Will the new be BOP:ed with the old?
If I remember right @J-F Chardon give a hint somewhere. The new GT3-Cars will be BOP'ed with the old cars in the GTR3-Class. IMO that would be ok, as that happens IRL, too. The "outdated" GT3-Cars are still racing around the world in some GT-Classes.
Regardless if 'new gen' GT3 cars are faster than their previous gen counterparts, GT3 is still a BoP series. So any cars that enter to race in it will be BoP'd against the others in the class. So, new cars or old would be BoP'd to race against each other. As @m.bohlken mentioned, I believe the plan is to include them all in the same class. Dont think we are getting 2 separate classes.
In RR one of the best GTR3 is the oldest: Alpina B6 All GT3 cars in one class for much more variety seems better to me.
Yepp - thats right... but they aren't faster in any case, they are just some kind of optimized. The Corvette is a good example to explain what I want to say. The old Corvette C6R has higher Top-Speed than the Corvette C7R but the Aerodynamic of the C7R allows faster cornering. That could mean that the C6R could be faster on High-Speed-Tracks like Monza than the C7R.
Yes, last race in Hockenheim at ADAC GT Masters this year, I think it was Remo Lips, was able to keep up for quite a long time with his RWT C6R.
The (hopefully) upcoming AI selector feature should allow us to run with only the latest GT3 models, or at least that's my hope.
Agreed, also for multiclass it would be great to be able to go in and handpick a few cars from a class. That said I absolutely don't mind the older GT3's being there, happens all the time in real life too as has been pointed out above. We're getting so close to a proper ADAC GT field though, wish old man KW would pull some strings so we can get the Huracáns, ah well but that's better left for the wishlist thread. Bring on the Merc, looking forward to hear that rumble in R3E.
thats the biggest optical minus of R3E actually. the Cars look like out of the box after 20 laps. Thats annoying. I enjoyed the dirty cars in AC last time i tried it.
