So, I bought one of these to use as a dashboard (mine is a bit smaller, 4'3): I bought a displayport to hdmi cable and a hdmi to rca adapter, and it works as a tiny second monitor. But I ended up realizing that it would be even better if I could use it as a "rear camera", as in some gt3, dtm and other cars: Problem is... I just can't find a way to do it. I would absolutely LOVE IT, if it was possible... Does someone know how to do that?
Can be done. Seen that somewhere where someone cuts the rear view out with OBS and placed it there. You can try. I think I saw it at YouTube.
peter did it but I can't find his post https://forum.virtualracing.org/threads/rig-vorstellung-peter-winkler.123877/
That's the boosted media one. You still have to have a virtual mirror in your screen, and the quality is pretty bad... I would love if it was possible! Also, I don't really get why this isn't an option in any game. I'm not the first and probably won't be the last to ask for this feature, as I noticed searching.
It would be a Feature that the least amount of users would actually use. Very low priority i can imagine
I agree, but it's that it seems to be so easy to implement... I may be wrong, but almost every racing or driving game will have a virtual mirror output. Why not make it recognizable for simhub, or even make it detachable as an individual window? Would it be too hard? (that wasn't a rethorical question, I don't actually know lol)
Now that I think about it, it would be perfect if even Otterhud had support for custom virtual mirrors... Would be a LOT more intuitive to set everything up
