Since a longer time this bug is something I hope it get's resolved. When going to a race session you are sitting in the car and the menu pops up, but there are a lot of drivers sitting in my car. It's only in the menu but nevertheless it would be good if it's solved. See also the screenshot, but look not at the menu look at the image behind I moved my HMD a litt up and to the side that it's easier to see.
Pretty sure that's just AI drivers sharing your pit box. I used to get it a lot but haven't seen it happen for a while.
