    Morning all,

I'm new to RRE and been using it a few weeks now generally in either practive or racing against AI with the ocassional venture online.

Just wondering about few things, hoping someone could help,
    • How do you reset car tuning to stock
    • I'm currently using a G920, I prefer to uset 90 to 180 degree to reach full lock on either side, at the minute i'm adjusting the angle of lock to achieve this, is this thr right way?
    • Tracks such as Norisring & Hochkinheim where ypo have some extremely low speed corners how can you improve you exit speed as the AI or even online just rocket out these corners?
    • By reducing the rear diff load would this enable the car to turn quicker or would it introduce oversteer?
    Thanks all in advance

    Paul

    Hello,
    1) there is a default setup in the setup saving screen, click on it to open
    4) While cornering and coasting, you should be able to turn quicker. Even when on load the lock will apply more gradually I think

    2) Logi G29 user here, I use the standard parameters for the wheel rotation and angle, as this feels more natural to drive and with higher/lower degree settings you tend to overdrive the car and tyres or not reach the limit of steering at all.
    3) This might be the problem in the Hairpins for you. You don't have enough steering to get around fast. Be slow to not understeer and use the tip from 2)
Everything else what Zziggy said :D
    Greetings

Hi Paul! You can reset to default setup by clicking the folder icon top left when you're at the car setup screen. Then you see a list of all setups you changed and saved so far. A click on that sheet with the little arrow behind the setup name loads that one. If you have not saved any setups you'll just see the "Dafault setup for carXYZ" click that sheet button and you're back to default (for that track) In addition, a middle mouse click on the changed setting just reverts that setting back to standard.

There are two ways to set that angle. Globally in the controller settings in the main menu or per car at the car setup screen. Top right "wheel settings" Adjust the steering angle to your liking. But keep in mind that this can make the car's steering react very direct and nervous if you lower a given angle from let's say 900° to 180°.

That question is a bit more tricky to answer and also depends on the car you're using. But in general for hairpin corners it might be better to chose a rather late apex. So you are able to accellerate a tad earlier while opening up the steering wheel again as discussed here https://forum.sector3studios.com/index.php?threads/hairpin-racing-line.11173/

The diff's preload determines how much torque is needed to let the wheels rotate at different speeds going through a corner while coasting. So that's mainly in situations where you're at a corner's apex where you just got completely off the brake and are not accellerating again yet. To high a value can prevent the wheels to rotate at different speeds and that can lead to understeer. So going lower can help the car to rotate more in such a situation. But like with every other setup change you make, ther's a sweet spot for every adjustment, that might work for a specific part of the track - here a hairpin - but might ruin your car's balance in a fast sweeper somewhere else at the same track...

Adjust steering angle in the car setup to your liking (on the right side of the window). Keep in mind that setup like 90 degrees for each side (180 overall) will make for a very twitchy car. Most modern racing cars have the steering angles around 450-540 degrees and those values generally make for a good compromise between speed you can correct stuff, and precision.
Trailbraking. Brake hard in the straight line, then ease up gradually when entering the corner, coast through without gas or break and then get slowly on the gas again around the apex. Be gentle on the throttle so you don't spin out or induce understeer on the exit.

Also, if you are using cars with traction control, turn it down to improve cornering. In GT3/GTE and similar, the sweet spot seems to be preset 3 or 4. The default full TC is pretty difficult to drive with, the car is understeery and unpredictable.
