Speed limit is canceled for 2016!
    Measures:
    1. stretch Döttinger height / Antoniusbuche: construction of an additional FIA protective fence demarcating the parallel national highway 258 over a length of 700 meters at high speeds.
    2. stretch Hocheichen: Construction of a retaining fence viewers behind the existing FIA safety fence for the delimitation of the parallel economy path.
    3. stretch Quiddelbacher height / aerodrome: renewal of the road to 500 meters on the Elimination of bumps. Already in the spring of a FIA safety fence and an additional audience restraint fence the tire barrier chain were built in this area and has been extended.
    4. the section Schwedenkreuz: establishment of a spectator-restricted zone to the right of the road and construction of a FIA protective fence on the left side.
    5. stretch Metzgesfeld: establishing additional FIA fences and spectators retaining fences for increased viewer protection and better protection of the right side camp area and displacement of the crash barrier closer to the track.
    6. stretch Wippermann: closing the existing gap in the audience retention fence.
    7. stretch Stefan-Bellof-S: construction of an additional FIA fence right on the road to the rear of the guard rail.

It´s translated from german language real quick with the google translator...

    Good news I think!

Aye, that news has been around for a while but it's great - can see the track record tumbling at the 24h again.

Fascinating how quickly the laserscan data of the Nordschleife becomes outdated.;)

hehe, thought the same as I read that... but the only point that really has an effect on the data is the elimination of the bumps between Quiddelbacher Höhe and Flugplatz. I think everything else could be "easiely" remodelled/updated by @Alex Hummler sometime after the release.

no keep the bumpy version. too many tracks are having the character taken out of them in favour of higher downforce cars, that's sad because the only thing high downforce adds to racing is a laptime number, it takes away from racing and fun driving. "all things are good in moderation" is a fantastic saying and i think it includes downforce.

Because a racing circuit constantly changes through the years, ingame tracks should be marked with a year date. The year which the track (and/or the laserscan data) is based on. Look at the many laserscanned iRacing tracks. They are just snapshots of former years.

Especially the Nordschleife changes every year as a few sections of the track became fresh layer of asphalt during the winter-season. But IMO those changes are so minor that the characteristics of the track staying the same.

A different thing would be, if the Hill from the Flugplatz-Section would be flatend (what was discussed)
