Thanks... although it will not let me change this, its set to my default monitor setting which is 3440... so how to change?

If I set launch options to -vr monitor where do I set 1.5 or set launch options to -vr1.5 monitor

remove the VR command from your launch icon. Go into the game, then settings and alter the video resolution. Quit, then add the -vr 1.5 back into the launch icon and the new resolution will be set.

One important thing i have found out now.

The render target multiplier parameter (-vr [n]) depends on the resolution are set in the grafic options in normal mode without vr.
I thought the value is based on a fixed resolution. But it does not.
This information should be added in first post.
Probably a reason why some have or feel a more worse qualitiy than others.

For example. I have an 1440p monitor with same in game resolution. On 1440p with -vr on default multiplier all looks already very good. But on 900p you need much higher multiplier for the same quality.

Right, the [n] is just a math placeholder for variables.

That make sense since people are saying if you put the Resolution down they are getting better performance. Anyone else tested this?

OK, this would explain this behaviour.

Makes sense. A nice little "trick" for getting a readable cockpit in Elite Dangerous on less then stellar ( dad pun of the day ) hardware is running in-game SS to 0.8 or somesuch and cranking HMD supersampling up to 2.0 or thereabout, sounds like we have a similar thing going here with a lower res.

Explains why I'm perfectly happy at -vr 1.5 at 1920*1080.

Does anyone have an issue with the 'time to opponent' text being pretty much unreadable in the Position Bar at the top of the screen in VR. (I'm using a Rift)

Whilst my own position and lap time are clear (black text on light background) the info relating to other drivers in front and behind me is light grey / white on a light background and it's very, very hard to read, especially if you just want to take a quick glance.

Any ideas or is this a known issue when using VR?

    Thanks.

The render target multiplier parameter (-vr [n]) depends on the resolution are set in the grafic options in normal mode without vr.

    Quick question, after reading this.

There is also a Supersampling option provided by Steam itself. VR Settings Developer Supersampling.

When I add -vr 2.0 to the Raceroom exe, does it mean, steam will add its SS 2, resulting in overall 4.0?

    Thanks!

I know what SS does. I was just wondering if steam tells r3e to render twice the resolution and then r3e adds its SS afterwards. Resulting then in SS 4.0.

There are many ways to do that.
    • First, you can bind a key "VR Toggle Monitor View" to enable mirroring on monitor or add the startoption "monitor" to auto enable this (like "-vr 2.0 monitor"). Then you can capture the monitor/window.
    • Alternative 1: If your stream/record with OBS there is a VR Input Plugin: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/openvr-input-plugin.534/
    • Alternative 2: You can use the OculusMirror.exe to capture the VR output from an separate window. You can find this tool in C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\

Wasn't the Startoption "monitor" instead of "mirror"?

I used the „how to...“ video from Gamermuscle to setup VR recording/streaming.

Hi guys, can anyone tell me if RR has a sharpness option somewhere? This could be very useful to improve VR image. Thanks.
