OtterHud - A custom WebHud - With additional features

I made some changes to the "delete settings if there is a error what so ever" routine and implemented some filters, so it does not delete the settings for every small hickup.
It tries 3 times instead now for most of the common errors i could think of and if it still has trouble, THEN the settings get restored, to check if it helps.

It should load the new files the next time you go to pits and back to car or press esc in singleplayer and go Drive again.

All seems good so bud, tried dozens times so far and all has stayed as I set it.. Thanks for the effort..

 

Hmm... the icons for settings and visibility keep appearing on my screen every few seconds now and it's really distracting. My mouse pointer is nowhere near the top left, and it's nowhere near me or my rig so is not getting nudged or vibrated.

 

Thanks Otter for the reset fix! It´s working now very well. One thought: maybe it´s better to couple the average speed/best laptime/average laptime information with another widget than the fuel detail? Because in time attack mode and leader´board challenges and public challenges there is no fuel consumption and so these detail are not shown.

 

Hmm, cant reproduce that on my end, it stays hidden all the time when i not move my mouse.
Will keep diggn.

That's the plan but for gettn quite low on space in the Settings, and every Widget needs to be in there to turn On/Off, i did it like this for the moment, but will change in the future!

I'm working on another kind of Settings Screen.

 

Has the new Overlay HUD been updated through CrewChief also?

 

Yeah @mr_belowski already did the magic to Crew-Chief, it should and will, greet you with a update notification when you start it.

 

I did a bit debugging on this topic.
There is a event name "OnMouseMove" which i catch to notice when the mouse is no longer moved.
Then 3 secs after it will hide the mouse and icons.
Problem is, it seems this event is sometimes firing, even if the mouse is not moved at all.
When you move the mouse actually the Event reports the moved time, and the numbers are changing rapidly while moving.
When you dont move the mouse the number should stop being updated.
But sometimes it keeps updating, slowly but steady.
That is what disables the automatic hiding from working.
Cant figure out why the event is firing at all when no mousemovement.

Maybe i can try different aproach, will see...

Otternas overlay 'stuck/frozen' with same info stats on screen
I have restarted game. redownloaded dash.exe. replaced steam launch command.
I have tried it all and still get same info stats on screen overlay.
it got stuck frozen and will not update.
any suggestions?

Yeah sounds like you paused the HUD
Go Ingame and click on Drive, when in the car hit "SHIFT + SPACE"
If you see a message "Unpaused" it should update the data again, if not, come back here and gimme a message and we will figure it out!

 

I race under the name "Total Gamer", this team radio thing seems to have a problem.

 

That looks like quite the car/track combo
Although actually didnt hammond drive the renault there as well? So it might not even be that weird..

 

This WebHud your running is the original Sector3 version of the WebHud, as i already fixed that in my Version.
