After another leaderboard session, I can confirm that the Nissan is way faster than before, but also way harder to keep on the track! I was able to lap 1.931 quicker at Road America but the car can slide at high speed and you always have to be very smooth on the throttle (the Curva Grande at Monza is a 4th gear drift all long...). Anyway, this update has given a completely new caracter to the Nissan (I have not yet tested the Mustang or the Audi) and I have to thank Alex Hodgkinson for this fantastic "new" car!

Are you using engine map 5?

I've tried the Audi and the Mustang, the Audi is understeer and very easy to drive. While the Mustang has a lot of oversteer but it is more fun to drive.

But what they both have in common is a wonderful sound.

After 30 min the Nissan´s engine is dead. Maybe we can put in some rev-limiter? In automatic it revs well beyond the red line.

The last time I drove these cars was so long ago I can't even tell how big the difference is, but I definitely like the current state. The two issues I noticed while testing the cars at Laguna Seca is that the Ford's FFB is oddly light and increasing the car-specific multiplier doesn't seem to linearly increase it either (still feels fairly light after a +0.5 adjustment) and the Nissan's engine can be killed under a 30 minute session with the default setup.

Ok I just had one of best races ever in the gto’s. Absolutely love the new update.
Several people have noted short engine life in the Nissan. I’m wondering if your watch your engine temps. I’m running the Audi and in a 30 minute race my engine is usually down to 25%, because the engine is running hot all the time. Anywhere from 113 to 121 degrees Celsius. Any thoughts on how to lower the engine temp? I’ve tried short shifting and running higher gears with less throttle, and that has little to no effect.

    edit:
I just wanted to add that I’m actually enjoying the need to “get the car to the end of the race”.
Todays cars are fairly bullet proof. But the vintage cars were not. You had to take of it to make the whole race and I like that challenge.
Just wonder how everybody else is dealing with it.

Are you using higher engine maps during the race than the default?

I’m not. I learned about the hazards of that in GTR2
