Outstanding...the liveries are awesome too. Great work,S3.
Props go to @w0lfix and @Erik van Leeuwen . During the past weeks they worked tirelessly to make the visuals as good as possible.
maybe next car is the porsche 961
that would be nice
its a imsa gtx racecar
"... three of the most iconic...", guess that doesn't include the 961, as much as I'd like to see it in RR.
But it leaves room for the 956 or 962. Pretty much iconic racecars imho .
Or just wishful thinking for badly wanting group c in RR...
917, 956, 962, it doesn't get much more iconic than these, maybe 935, 936 to add.
Regarding what I'd be happy to see in RR, 924 GTR, 961 and 993 GT2 Evo are also quite iconic.
After hours of racing with this beast I have to say I freaking love this car! It's such a unique feeling! Awesome Job Sector 3
Without any doubt this the most terrifying car to drive fast, being unsafe at any speed with vicious and unforgiving characteristics, draining the driver´s level of concentration at an unprecedented rate. I LOVE IT!
Over the years there where many Group 4 cars, but the 934 didn't had many real oponnents, f.e. in DRM there where only the Porsche Carrera RSR, Ford Capri 2800 RS LW, Ford Capri 3100, Ferrari Daytona, Opel Commodore and BMW 3.0 CSL. (source http://touringcarracing.net/Pages/1976 DRM.html) If I would have to guess I would say, the BMW 3.0 CSL, one of the Capris and the Carrera RSR, will fill the Group 4 next year. I don't think the M1 will make it, because it got famous due to it's procar (cup) entry's on some of the formula one weekends and was raraly used in other races.
Actually, the 934 had many opponents but not from the same era you mentioned :
- BMW M1 (mainly in Le Mans + multiclass in DRM)
- Ford Escort RSII 1800 & 2L (DRM Div.II )
- VW Scirocco (DRM + EGT)
- Opel Kadett GT/E (DRM + EGT)
- BMW 2002 (DRM Div.II)
- BMW 320 (DRM Div.II)
This is where you need to look for to find the potential future 934 competitors
Also, the BMW CSL had switched into Group 2 (Div.I) or Group 5 in the meantime.
Opel Kadett C GT/E <3
I like them all
This is one of them :
I think the only real opponent of the 934 in Group 4 was the BMW M1, as all the cars mentionned above were Group 2 cars (they ran in the DRM but the 934 ran in Div. I and the others in Div.II).
True for the DRM, and the great thing is that the 934 navigated from classes to classes all along its carreer (GTO, GT +2.0, Gr.4, etc etc) which made it race against a lot of very different cars.
Now, if we look at the DRM race results from 1976 until 1979, we can see that all these cars, while racing in different classes (Div.I, Div.II, Gr.2, Gr.4) were extremely close to each others, and everyone had its chance for the podium, hence why I consider them as the real opponents for the 934.
The 935 and the others Group 5 cars changed this hierarchy obviously, but the rest of the grid was still almost on the same level.
Just a dream
Yes but the division 2 cars are not really comparable with the division 1 cars it's a little bit like LMP2 and GTE in Le mans, the division 2 cars were a lot slower than the division 1 cars, even the division1 cars had huge differences on some tracks .
Loook at Hockenheim 1976 http://touringcarracing.net/Races/1976 Hockenheim Nationen.html
Fastest lap Porsche 934 Div1 2:11
fastest lap Ford Escort II RS Div2 2:19
Yes they drove in the same race but They are in partly or complete different technical rules set
- Ford Escort RSII 1800 & 2L (DRM Div.II ) => Group 2
- VW Scirocco (DRM + EGT) => Group 2
- Opel Kadett GT/E (DRM + EGT) => Group 5 National
- BMW 2002 (DRM Div.II) => Group 5 National
- BMW 320 (DRM Div.II) => Group 2

Afaik some of the cars had also different technical rules from one track to another.
Of course theoretically you can bop them into Group 4? But would you really bop 7 or 8 or even 10 seconds per lap in Hockenheim, so that they will fit? And if you do this, how will those cars work on other tracks? I think those gaps are to big to bop. Would be the same as you have to bop the GTR4 cars into the GTR3, would be possible, but would it make sense?
Stop right there at number 2.
Please make room for the RS in Group 4 () Don't pray but would put my hands together for an RS in RR. While your at it, did someone mention Daytona, best throw that one in, may as well add the M1, this car needs opposition and the liveries are sick, VW & Opel would be very nice of course the other Beemers are a given. Swear I remember a Capri Group 4 back in the day but '76 was hot, I was a teenager, beer, girls & long cigarettes made an appearance, to say memories of those times were cloudy, would be an understatement. So you can leave the Capri out if I'm wrong, rest of 'em would do just fine.
But there wasn't any RS II in the group 4 as the 934 was competing in Group 4. The RS were at Group 1(B) and Group 2. The Ford Group 4 and/or group 5 cars were the Capris.
I think the group 4 changed around 1977. That's the reason why the M1 was not able to compete in most group 4 based race series anymore and had to compete in their own cup (Procar) or where rebuild to group 5 or other races fe. like Le Mans. Or were rebuild back to street cars, and sold to rich people.
After 1977 there were Escorts build for the "new" or better lets say "refeshed" Group4.
After all that era was a hell of mess according to the technical regulation. They changed so often and even from one race to another.
I would love to have the VW, Opel and Ford. They would be something different, especially the Opel for me as I tend to see it in rally games. Seeing the Opel on closed track would be awesome for me.
However, I would love to see more Fords in the game, mainly Group A Sierra, GTE Ford GT LM and GT4 Ford Mustang. Can we get more cars from Ford?
Raceroom's appeal for a long time was the multiple cars in a class. Even that's gone down the pisser, between this and the DTM Mercs.
Also still no Group A physics update.
