I never saw a noticable performance drop when using this feature. But you can just try it. Hitting WIN + ALT + R during a replay doesn't cost you anything and you will see at once how it goes.
There is a trick that I used when I was capturing videos on my laptop You do 2 recordings - one with normal speed and second in slow motion. First one will be for sound and second one for actual video. Then just merge them in any video editor and synchronize them. For even more slow motion I used Cheat Engine and set speed of game to be 1/15-1/25. That way I achieved 1080p60 recordings at laptop with i3-370m and Radeon 5450 when in reality i had like 5FPS Upside was, that I didn't even need to record sound separately Thank god i don't need to do that anymore, as record of single lap took like 30min
