Got kicked off ranked multiplayer during race because of high ping, why do I lose rating and reputation points. (My internet provider has resolved my ping problems.)
Presumably because the system treats a disconnection as a disconnection, regardless of the cause. It's likely done that way to prevent abuse. (ie, deliberately causing high ping or disconnecting your internet to bail a race you no longer want to be in.)
