Resolved raceroom won't launch

hi guys i been using raceroom a while with zero issues until a week or so ago it just won't launch.

when i try to sart the game i get the small square raceroom logo come up my mouse curser spins for around 10 seconds then the logo disappears mouse curser back to normal and nothing the play button in steam highlights again.

i have deleted simbin raceroom from my documents and tried again but nothing
i have verified files in steam

any help would be appreciated thankyou

 

How about a full reinstall? I had a similar issue (though it was at least two years ago) and that was the thing that finally worked.

Did you also delete the raceroom folder in documents that contains all user data/settings etc?

 

yes mate i deleted the raceroom folder in documents that contains the user data and settings.

that crash dump i uploaded how are they read? are they something only sector3 can read??
i have created a ticket with support see what they say.

i have a feeling this is going to be one of those windows reinstall jobs.
i seem to remember the problem starting after the windows 20h2 update

 

They are encrypted yes. I'll get someone to take a look.

 

I had this with a few programs, similar symptons, probably isnt but may be worth a try - windows security - virus and threat protection - ransomware protection at the bottom of the page and disable it. Try again, if it works then you can re enable it and set a rule to enable a program to pass through it.

no joy..ransomware protection was already disabled by default. tried disabling antivirus still no joy

Try starting steam and then running the game from the game directory, try both 32 and 64 bit exes.

 

Tried both exe in the game directory same result.

Kill everythhing app wise , then try , no monitoring , overclock software , etc ......

If this doesnt work , kill av as well

MSI afterburner/rivatuner installed?

 

yes andi yes ravey that was it. closed msi afterburner and now it works. big thanks to everybody for helping. sure afterburner used to be ok maybe updates i dont know but working now....excellent

 

F'ing afterburner....it's always that damn thing.....

 

What is it with Afterburner, is it the stats server? Ive only ever used the Oc and never really seen a problem, but it appears to happen here (RR) quite frequently.
Maybe try installing without the stat server if its only used for Oc and see if it works fine then.
